swamp. I think you are probably echoing the mixed emotions of most Bluebirds. I'm just going to wait and see how things pan out, but at the end of the day, what can we really do? Yes we can protest and, if vociferous enough, we may even force the new regime out, but what good would that do us? If we weren't in so much debt, perhaps the hand of the supporters would be a bit stronger.

Interesting (though perhaps worrying) times ahead again. Let's hope we have a strong football club at the end of it all, and that football in this country doesn't fulfill my worst fears and we end up with franchises like US sports.
 
so you believe that tan bloke will put £100 million into the club ..<laugh> he has so far spent £15 million keeping the wolf from the door with not a penny towards the team so they can get promotion....are you lot daft or what. 3 seasons they have been there and the only way they will put £100 million into the club is if you ever reach the premiership and then £90+ million will come from achieving premiership status anyway....just like us...the premiership is the only way you can make money in malaysia and not selling a few shirts to family and friends out there, its the same all over the world where there is a huge following of premiership teams and football. championship is nothing to be bothered about.......where are these 10,000 extra supporters going to come from as you cant fill what you have got most of the time....... £100 million <laugh> show me the money first i would be saying and even then we would not sell our identity down the M4.......<ok> once a jack always a jack...and not once upon a time a bluebird but now a red dragon...<laugh>
 
Dai, did you cry when you changed from the Swan to the Dragon in 1973, (whoops!!!) or did you cry when you nearly went out of business because you had no money. Grow up, and stop being such a naive tosspot. If you had of been offered 100 million to save your sorry ass rather then have Ninian Park handing out buckets for you, you would have jumped at the chance. Now go back and stick your high morals up your two admin ripping off ass.

Would you bankrupt your own club before looking at the options?

You say things like "We wouldn't let this happen to us..." Yeah right. You never had anybody offer you 100m. You changed your logo to a red dragon before. You went into admin twice. Cardiff fans are trying to work through the pros and cons, in a pretty rational manner.

Just stay off here for awhile and stop suggesting you know things about the deal that nobody else does.
 
On reading the South Wales Rag which is of course the Echo i am suddenly becoming more than a little concerned. Apparantly thousands of our fans have signed some sort of petition and these protestors have also engaged a very dangerous pack of wolves to help them with their cause, the politicians ! As a business owner myself, i listen to a number of outside parties as to the way ahead for my business, but ultimately i will make the final decision. With politicians involved, well to put it bluntly they will eff it right up, most of these protestors are genuine Cardiff fans however i get the feeling most are just a part of the flock of sheep in this arguement, i have never gone along with the club having voicepieces such as Vince Alm etc etc, you all know who i mean. This is a recent phenomina and it really does not count for anything and they are certainly not speaking on my behalf. The Malaysians are successful buisnessmen who understand the importance of branding and more importantly can see the bigger picture, unfortunately the flock led by their shepherds can not. This is down to one factor, not many of the flock or the shepherds understand the first thing about running a business, a business is run for profit and not loss, however the owner will look at a 5 or 10 year plan and decide to take a loss in the early years to speculate on a profit in later years and ongoing. This my friends is the juncture that Cardiff City FC has now got to. Hard decisions have to be made to progress the business, and i for one take my hat off to the Malaysians for making what they think as the future of the business. If the Flock and the Shepherds achieve thier ultimate goal and drive the Malaysians away then it will be them that destroys the club that most of us have supported through Thinner Thin and now a little bit of Thick. I would urge these people to re think their actions for the good of all, you will also find that most flocks are unable to embrace change as they see it as a threat, instead of being an asset. We support the club, we contribute to the annual turnover, however we do not own the club. I am a Cardiff City fan of longstanding and my support is firmly behind the Malaysians. If you dont like it vote with your feet, but believe me others will be there to fill those shoes WHEN they achieve success.

The question is, why do they feel the need to rebrand at all? Ok, they want to make the club more attractive to the Asian market, but the heart of the question is why that requires such a dramatic change.

I can see that you trying to combat massive debt when the league is about to close the door to large amounts of money being pumped in and these guys wanna stick around for the foreseeable future. It's all pointing at a very healthy future, but the rebranding isn't necessary for that to happen.

I know you're all a bit pissed off with Jacks coming over and apparently having an opinion with no interest so this will be my last post over here on it. Just ask yourselves why the rebranding has to happen just keep them around.

These people to put it very bluntly are halfwits who do not understand the first thing about business, when there is a cost to themselves they will be rounded up and put back in their pen where they belong, it really does sicken me that these people think they can decide the future of the club over a few pints and a clarkes pie. Let them have thier 5 minutes they are all full of pissandwind, and hopefully they will go away. Easily led comes to mind

We have had more sense from the few posters we have on this board than the sheep on AAMB don't people realise that AA & CC are wolfs in sheep clothing ?
 
DJ Rhondda, it is these people who i am referring to, it is also these very people who were wearing the Anti Ridsdale T shirts and were probably amongst the first to buy the Brown and Orange scarves when the Malaysians came and rescued what was, a badly failing business, they are trying to enhance our status worldwide, and NOT just in Cardiff, AA and CC think they represent the feelings of the supporters, they do not, lets get that straight right now. They are dangerous people and foolish in their views. We will probably have another march with the brass band playing. Cardiff City has always been a very cosmopolitan club, what the so called Shepherds in this case have to realise is this, whether they like it or not, the vast majority of our support comes not from Canton, Riverside, Grangetown and Ely, but from the outlying areas. I would hazard a guess that less than half the support comes from within the boundaries of the city walls. We have supporters now from all over Wales and the rest of the UK, this i see as a major positive for the future and the ongoing success of the Club (Business). What makes it worse is the Cardiff Media will interview them, stick them on the TV, because they know it is controversial and will attract and audience. Jay Mohammed had a radio show on this subject most of the week and the vast majority of people phoning in were from Swansea, WTF this subject has got to do with them is beyond me. Believe me, I for one hold them no ill will whatsoever and wish them luck. My concern is for the Club which WE all contribute our support and time to. These halfwits if not stopped will destroy our club. If they succeed and the Club goes down the pan. I will discontinue to support football in any shape way or form. For i support CARDIFF CITY F.C and nobody else, and before anyone else asks, i am from Blackwood and not from within the boundries of the City walls.

I hate that fans are now being called traitors or sheep!

Fans have a right to protest - just hope they know what they are going to achieve.

With Ridsdale it was simple. I joined in. Wanted him out.

This time the option is Investment but we play in red.

So is the protest for the board to reject the proposal.

If so - no investment we play in blue for as long as we can stay in business.

If we are lucky we go into admin and fall down the leagues.

Or we could lose the club.

Most looking to protest will be sensible. However some of the posts on mbs havent.

My fear is Sky will interview someone making idiotic comments.

Id love it if there was another option.

If a local fan came in and said he could manage the debts but stadium expansion and vasts amount of money on new players wasnt an option. More than happy to watch Championship football.

However there is no one.

I think its right there is a fans meeting. I look forward to hearing what their action will be and what they want to achieve.
 
When I started watching Cardiff City as a teenager I would catch the special train from the Rhondda that stoped at Ninian Park halt.

There would be trains from the Cynon Valley, Merthyr Tydfil, Barry, Bridgend, Caerphilly and the Gwent valleys.

Cardiff City has always had big followings from outside the city.

Not 100% sure but is AA from Newport and CC from Neath ? as you say these Shepherds were happy when "Sam the Man" changed our crest to the flag of St.David.

Football is a business and like all business it has to change with the times or die.
 
Says it all really Hilts and backs up my arguement. The said meeting is being set up in the Municipal Club in City road. For me that says it all. For example why wasnt the meeting arranged at a venue that all concerned would have to get off their arses to attend at a neutral venue outside of the City. I'll tell you why my friend. Its arrogance for the very reasons i have explained above. This is also proven when the club plays away, usually the majority of the away fans are not from within the city walls. Everyone has a right to protest, just look at what Scargill ultimately achieved, do you want that for Cardiff City, i would hazard a guess that the answer is no (and i am an old socialist at heart). I would also guarantee you that if people with alternative views turned up at Municipal on saturday they would probably end up with the threat of violence etc. You also have to understand that some of our fans are Sheep, but none are traitors, the word traitor is used flipantly by the bullies. The vast majority of the people turning up for that meeting are dangerous, and i bet the Media will already know that the event is taking place, as the Shepherds will have taken great joy and euphoria in informing them of the fact.
 
Think Manchester City - do you think of the sky blue, or red & black stripes? Of course, their main strip is sky blue, but they can almost equally be thought of in the red & black. Leeds United changed their strip in the 60's in order to emulate the strip of Real Madrid, and let's not forget that Man U once played in green & yellow - I doubt if they were known as the Red Devils then. Football fans are a conservative lot, but every now & then a dose of reality has to be served up - we're at a crossroads - which path do we take? That, my fellow 606ers, is up to the people who put their money where their mouth is - the board of Cardiff City Football Club. I know we put our money into the club too, but 100 million trumps whatever we put in, so showing them some respect for that wouldn't go amiss. No matter what, Cardiff City is Cardiff City, and the colour of the shirt won't make a blind bit of difference. If people want to be that picky, why don't we just have players who were born & bred in the city? It's a daft idea of course, and sticking to a faux tradition is also just as daft. There are far for pressing concerns at CCFC, like gaining promotion to the promised land next season.
 
The Supporters Trust are backing this meeting though. Believe Sky are going to be there.

Some people are making ludicrous claims now.

Sure a name change and location change are now against league rules after the MKDons episode.
 
Thank God we are getting some common sense on this board.

I sense those non-Cardiff fans commenting would love to see the lunatics taking over the asylum so they could glory in our demise.

The Malaysians' plan would ensure that does not happen and give us the springboard to go forward.

To those against it, wake up and smell the coffee. There must be some room for movement in the proposal to allay some fears but the Malaysians are a straight talking bunch and if there is no progress along the lines they want, they can and will walk. In that case, hello League of Wales.
