Not arguing mate, you have your views and I have mine. Time will tell.

Swamp

Don't get the last sentence. Surely £100m coming in can have a major effect on the future. If it doesn't come in then do we have a future?

I don't like being held to ransom, if that is what they are saying, but those are the facts.

anyway i'm worn out from this today..no disrespect intended or anything to my fellow BLUEBIRD posters on here during the debate..

i just ask you all to try and convince these people that we don't have to get rid of our traditional colours and historical badge to achieve the ultimate goal of premier league sustainability and global appeal...enjoy the rest of your evening and UP THE BLUEBIRDS LADIES AND GENTLEMAN!

yes but what would it go on? a 35000 when 26000 is fine and a training ground when we've already got one.

so the scenario seems to be that we must accept these terms or they pull the plug. so in that case have they only loaned us money and at this moment in time they can scarper without losing anything?

if they were to pull the plug i'm sure we'd find another buyer, but obviously that doesnt seem to be the case..

Financial Fair Play rules (taken from bbc article 25/04/2012)

Championship clubs making losses of more than £6m will be fined millions of pounds or put under a transfer embargo from the 2014-15 season.

Three of the 24 clubs voted against new regulations to limit investment from owners and curb total spending.

The changes will also prevent owners from funding their clubs through loans.

Football League chairman Greg Clarke said: "They will begin to lay the foundations for a league of financially self-sustaining football clubs."

Owners will be allowed to invest £6m next season, £5m the year after, then £3m in the 2014-15 season.

Football League chief Greg Clarke backs Financial Fair Play rules

From 2015-16, clubs will be allowed to make a £2m operating loss, as well accept a £3m investment from an owner - allowing for a £5m overall loss.

As a businessman, would you continually invest £5 million a season, just to stagnate? The owners are trying to progress the club, they cannot now do this by loaning, or gifting us blank cheques. Times they are a changing.

"the scenario seems to be that we must accept these terms or they pull the plug" Bloody hell what type of people have you got in charge there? Tell them to **** off. You'll get another buyer easily, Swamp, and the Malaysians will get burned. They know this and that's why they won't walk imo.

Well for those who vote with their feet, you have to ask the question. Are they true Cardiff supporters anyway. as the song goes 'I'll be there''. What if we play in scarlet red, we will then become the Scarlets which will really pissoff a few people down west.!!

London

I appreciate your views and don't want to fall out with a fellow CCFC supporter but look at the bigger picture. There are still old, outside influences in our club. This presents an opportunity to get rid of them and increase investment to improve all aspects from the team, to the ground to training facilities.
Rather than limping from month to month on a shoestring, this can put all of that behind us.

We are still Cardiff City, the history can't be eliminated. This is an opportunity to move forward in a big way. If it is not taken we risk losing everything we have and what will history mean then? Ask any Pompey fan.

Agree with a lot of this. If it means come January we need new players then Malky can at last buy them.

I'll still wear my bluebirds shirts and chant bluebirds - it will never die. Our club might though if the malaysians walk away.

Imagine being owned then by the local council - what a terrible thing that would be.

ps. I quite liked the picture of Peter Whittingham in his red kit in the paper today actually ;)

As a jack, I'm a bit "meh!" about it, but as a football fan...
I cannot, I mean really CANNOT understand why everyone isn't up in arms like 'london' here. I've been though this thread and I'm astounded at the number of CCFC fans taking this on the chin as a necessary evil of progress.

Someone was saying about not always having a blue strip and someone else was going on about Riverside F.C., blah, blah, blah!

If this was my club, I'd rather go down fighting than accept a change of badge, club colour, etc. yeah, the Swans rebranded a badge ages years ago, but it's still a Swan (of sorts). The club colour though, holy ****!

C'mon guys, I may not be a fan, but this is nothing short of an unmitigated disaster! Show some f**king spine.

Club colour! haven't Swansea changed their colours as well!

Let's be honest if they played in pink I'd still buy my ST.

We need to remember these guys are brilliant negotiators, very often the real thing they want is not muted and they put other things in the way that can be dropped. Let’s see what Saturday brings.

Maybe we stole it from the Swans...... Most can't remember 1973

Bumped int Xavier Rush, the rugby player today. Nice chap who's very happy to be going back to play in a full stadium that was made for rugby. He asked what the hell was going on with the footy. As an All Black he said he'd be bloody upset if something similar were to happen to his national team but then went on to say 'I'd play in my bloody pyjamas if it brought in a 100 million.'

I say we have little choice. It's still the city's football team, we often see dragons on flags there and I'm colourblind anyway, which is **** for me 'cause red just looks rubbish against a green background. I'll still shout for them though.

Where does it say in there that if the chairman is expected to maintain that funding, he should be allowed to desecrate a club's heritage to suit his own superstitions???

Club colour! haven't Swansea changed their colours as well!

Any change has been within the variations of mostly white and a bit of a flash of other colours, but mostly white. Nothing more than styling.

...and for anyone who says it doesn't matter if you don't play in blue, tell me how you feel after you see this:

That's what you're fighting for. If it was me, they could shove their £100m.

someone said lets look at the bigger picture.....well if you do look then you have to ask why change cardiff's identity to invest in the club now 3 seasons down the line.......why did they not back Dave jones when he was on the brink of taking cardiff up to the promise land.....what has changing the clubs long history of being the bluebirds going to achieve that cant be done leaving the clubs identity alone....Look at the big picture.....what is behind all this hidden agenda as there is something they are not telling you......If it dont make sense then it probably isn't.....
