He has, believe me. You are, of course, right. You cannot compare Internet life with real life but I know I am not alone in believing it is still not acceptable to take any form of abuse, no matter where it comes from. With some sets of fans, Leeds, Ipswich, Swansea to name just a few, we can go back and forth and have a dig at each other and again that is fine. Between those fan bases we know each other pretty well and are generally on friendly terms. The difference really comes about when the other set of supporters are not friendly towards us or us towards them. That is something else we need to take in to account. Go to the QPR board and land an insult and wait for a reaction. If you get one (and I am sure you will), it will be unpleasant - so to that end when their fans come on here and dish out insults I would rather they didn't and discourage them, and if required ban them.
I'm not sure, but last time I saw a post of his I remember seeing that he had posted well into the thousands. That guy 'wums's' 97% of the time, yet seems to get away with it.
Caught a big fish on the QPR board... --- Me Even Swansea and Norwich's "2nd" teams are better than these rubbish players you have bought - mercenaries every one of them, I'll remind you at the end of the season come relegation when they abandon ship...honestly your business model has been DESTROYED! 90K wages, obscene...for your information Norwich maximum wage is 15k, Swansea can't be far off that higher/lower...your team QPR is a joke. The Reply Norwich are just flying because their manager in some point their lack of quality in material going to cost them badly. If and when their great manager Lambert is ready to move on (maybe very soon) Norwich are gonna fall again back to league one /two....In league one that 15 000 wage roof is handy[/COLOR]......... --- "some point lack of quality in material going to cost them badly" - omg, how delusional can you get...Norwich sign 2 young stars, both captains and have played at English U-21 level, Swansea...loaned McEachran (future england regular) and another few promising young players, while QPR sign Cisse (old, injured), Zamora (most overated striker who how he got an england cap idk), and 3 randoms. Swans and Canaries building for the future, R's overspending is going to haunt them in 5 years time when they realise they have a 34yr old striker on 90,000 a week. And the lack of quality, I think just about every knowledgable pundit in the media would dispute that! Grr!
It's no laughing matter though. The person I know with the condition fortunatly can live with little scrutiny as it is on their foot but it isn't something for people to laugh at, and it is a form of abuse that in the workplace or somewhere similar should be dealt with properly.
In no way am I laughing at people with that type of condition. I am merely stating the police wouldn't take me seriously.
I think most people just knew he was a wum. Some would indulge him and others would slate him but he kept going back for more. Attention seeker and little else I suspect. Not sure if the people who use GC actually take in to consideration who supports what team tbh. I wouldn't know as I never go there.
Harrassment. If it happened in the workplace, Disability discrimination. I've known this person for a while and they have recieved so much in the way of insults and discrimination that it is ridiculous. They have even been rejected jobs because of it. In terms of charges, the outcome is relatively minor, but morally it is just wrong and seriously damages the person's morale at times. It is certaintly not something that should be ignored.
Carra, this discussion has reminded me of an incident I witnessed some time ago. A guy is walking down the street and two guys are coming the other way. For no visible reason, one of the two guys set about the one guy on his own and proceeded to give him a good kicking. The other one of the two guys tried to drag his mate off and when he eventually did he said, and I quote "Sorry about that mate - he's high as a kite on drugs"! And they walked away! So being high as a kite was an acceptable excuse for kicking the crap out of someone? Accept that and values you hold dear will slip in to oblivion - agreed? If you agree, then what happens many times on here is just as inexcusable. The excuse is - well, it's the internet! You can say what you want on the Internet can't you?
There is bound to be some law on stuff like this by now, especially since the creation of the internet.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/libertycentral/2012/jan/18/crime-insult-public-order-act I urge you to read it all, including comments at the bottom.
I think all insulting remarks should have an air of humour around them. I'm more than willing to laugh at myself but expect a bit back. When it comes to stereotypes, it always works both ways. If a guy from switzerland slagged me off I'd call him a "neutral multi-tool waving bastard" it's the way it should be
If it's humorous then I agree with you beef but in most cases it isn't. Go to my previous post, we base our decisions not solely on the content on the post but who makes the remark, and why. There in lies the difference
