It is, comparatively speaking, a 'Mickey Mouse Cup' but it's a competition that we, at our current level, have beaten whoever we've been drawn against to reach the final . . . . which means that OUR team will be playing at Wembley. Our opponents are 'only' Tranmere, which emphasises the 'Mickey Mouse' bit, but it's still a cup final, AT WEMBLEY, where the vast majority of players, wherever they are in the football pyramid, will never play :emoticon-0148-yes:

At about this time on Sunday (posted deliberately about now) I wonder how many of those that are not very interested will have slowly but surely become more interested, and the usual nerves will have set in . . . . a last minute trip to the toilet, tell the wife to shut up or go out etc. and open the first of a few cans :emoticon-0112-wonde

We all know the league is the priority, Portsmouth is more important and promotion worth more than the cup ...

... but some supporters will never see their team at Wembley.

Newcastle supporters can mock it, despite harping on about the tinpot cup win against a team they can't spell, but how many have ever seen their team celebrate at Wembley.

They haven't won a cup there since 1955. Once Portsmouth is over I'll start to really look forward to our Cup Final broadcast to the nation, Haway Lads.

Totally this, some people mocking about us playing in it but I’d say any competition we play in we should go out and try an win it

Personally, I am just plain sick of losing at Wembley. Been there, done that, chucked the T-shirt in the bin.

If it's a Mickey Mouse cup final against Mickey Mouse opposition that breaks the streak, I will take that in a heartbeat.

If we end up in another play-off final with a win under our belts, we'll all be feeling a lot happier.

Mind you, I was at the losing game with Swindon, only to be promoted anyway courtesy of their financial irregularities. The gnashing of mag teeth was fabulous when we (finished 6th) went up instead of them (finished 3rd) after the G-force 2-0 win at Sid James Park. Oh, how we laughed... <laugh>

Both spot on. I'm really looking forward to it and a win is a win is a win when you're on a good run. Keep doing what we're doing, hopefully keep the momentum up with a win and a cup, here why not, someone has to win it.
