Big Diomede is located on the Russian side while Little Diomede is on the US side. The ice bridge that forms between the two islands in winter makes it possible, although illegal, to walk the short distance between them.

I have never been more worried about the international situation than I am right now. Never have I seen a US in bed with the Russians like this. Never have I seen the US try to bully a European nation into paying to exist. Horrifying.

And blaming Ukraine for being invaded is one of the most horrific things I have ever seen a politician do.

It is classic stuff. Exactly the same as when we were talking about the summer 'race riots' and O's said that I was part of the problem as I have foreign heritage......

How he didnt get a lifetime ban from the site, I don't know. I did call him a **** though (and meant it), so it equals itself out.

I hear about the other side of the coin from the perpetrators. And by reading quite widely. That’s enough.

We really need to ramp up defence spending, the US will be a full enemy soon if this keeps up. We need to watch our backs.

As a former aide to Trump said on Radio 4 this evening, some of the comments makes are held to be brinkmanship but Trump does believe some of the more extreme opinions he spouts.

I agree that , with Trump at the helm, the US has become an enemy. This does not just appertain to Ukraine which would be reason enough, but the levying of tariffs and the opinion of global warning. This opinion was also mooted on the radio this morning.

I can see a situation where Europe totally disengages with the US . Just wonder how far Trump needs to go before diplomatic relations with the US breakdown throughout Europe. Something will have to give. Part of me thinks that Trump will be usurped as soon as the implications become apparent and the other thinks that the rest of the world will look towards succour to those displeased with Trump. I do feel that Trump’s behaviour will ultimately lead to the rest if the world seeing the US as unreliable regardless of who is president.

This is the beginning of the end of the US as a super power.

All of this has been Putin’s plan all along. He has spent 25 years building disharmony in the West. For him, the cold war never ended - and as a former KGB officer he knew the power of disinformation. All these paid shrills of Russia that certain people worship are enemies of democracy.

People should be more annoyed at European “leaders” than at Trump/Musk.

For years they have been writing cheques that they can’t cash, sponging off America while simultaneously promoting policies which actively harm Europeans.

This is a natural turn of events - Europe has made itself so weak that it is now almost irrelevant on a global stage.

Maybe one day Europe will wake up, stop chasing the net zero scam and begin investing into its infrastructure and manufacturing again. Then they’ll be given a seat at the big boys table again.

Until then I only hope we can oust Starmer and his band of morons quickly enough that we can bring someone sensible in who can strengthen the UK’s ties with America.

I don't entirely disagree, but I'd point out that it is possible to be annoyed at both Europe's hand-wringing recent history, and the frankly absurd goings on in the States at the same time.

The reality is that the big boys are now playing and Europe has taxed, censored and woked its way into obscurity.

Everything about Europe is incredibly bearish. They still think they have unlimited power and clout on the world stage. This is not the case now. China, Russia, America and the BRICs nations are increasingly seeing Europe as irrelevant

This has been obvious for many, many years. Europe cannot win any wars without America. In reality it can’t do anything without America.
Even the manufacturing hub of Germany is on its knees. Energy is just too expensive.

JD Vance and Trump are actually our friends for pointing this out, not our enemy. It’s the EU and it’s narcissistic bureaucrats that are to blame for this mess. If they had shown better leadership then we wouldn’t be here now.

The idea that Europe could take on Russia without America's full backing is laughable. European politicians have allowed Europe to be hollowed out. Energy is the currency that rules the world, and the EU politicians forgot this.

Previous American politicians did the same for America.
Can we really be surprised that they are now looking inward? Trump is the natural reaction to decades of working people being ignored and American interests being put last.

Why should the American taxpayer fund endless forever wars in faraway nations?

I still think Trump and Vance are the good guys here. I think Putin is extremely evil but smart.

And I think the EU are lead by a mixture of staggering evil and incompetence.
As for us… we are in big trouble under this incompetent government.

China are also huge winners here. American isolationism etc plays into their hands massively.

I agree with you on this one, Os. Though I'd take exception at Trump and Vance being cast as 'good guys'. I can see what you mean in terms of the shake up being positive regarding waking things up over here, but the triumvirate of Trump/Vance/Musk are a long way from 'good guys'. More like the positives are an accidental rebound into the net off their arses.

You are so gone, man. So deeply gone.

“Europe has taxed, censored and woked its way into obscurity” - woked? I have never heard anyone harp on about identity politics like Trump and his crew. Nobody else is mentioning this ****. There is no censorship here unless of course you are spouting hate speak? So you just want to say hateful things? Because you can say anything at all if you say it with civility. Taxes are a normal part of society. In Florida they got rid of income tax altogether and the state is totally ****ed.

“It’s the EU and it’s narcissistic bureaucrats that are to blame for this mess. If they had shown better leadership then we wouldn’t be here now.”

Narcissistic bureaucrats? Have you seen Trump? You spent the last 4 years claiming Biden was a terrible leader, so I guess the fact everyone was able to stand up to Putin up until now was a fluke?

“The idea that Europe could take on Russia without America's full backing is laughable.”

You really hate your own people, don’t you? Europe has been consistent in backing Ukraine, and has not tried to extort mineral wealth from them and sell their lands to Russia. ****ing despicable that you blame Europe.

And you are ignoring the fact Trump has Putin’s dick in his mouth. He has just repeated all of Russia’s lies about Ukraine verbatim. What a piece of ****.
