I just meant in this specific situation to be honest.

I wouldn’t claim that Trump is a good guy after everything he’s done in his personal life.

I think what we have now, is an overcorrection of the pendulum from the more silly progressive policies of the recent past leaving us sitting far too far the other way, with a useful idiot, an ADHD child and someone basically trying to play whichever are the right cards of the day. Unfortunately we have four years, or however long it takes for the main guy to keel over, of some pretty abject madness to put up with until things can settle back down somewhere sensible.

In the meantime, China and Russia will be cleaning up.

I thought it was fairly obvious what I meant.

Europe has crippled itself due to net zero and ill thought out energy policies. The censoring of anyone that spoke out against this was real. As much as you pretend otherwise.

This is all a part of the liberal woke agenda that has been pushed for a couple of decades

He is utterly wrong. This isn’t an either or situation. Europe isn’t perfect but it is loyal to its allies. The US has benefited from its position as global leader since 1945 - it certainly has not suffered for it. Repeating Russian lies is disgusting and the US is going to become an enemy of the Western World.

Nobody got censored. Where? One piece of evidence that people were actively silenced. All you do is lie.

    Liar.

What you're saying here is correct (although I wouldn't be sure that the US is going to become an enemy, there's a long way to go before that), but what Os was saying was, in parts, reading between the hyperbole, true as well. I don't think what you're saying her is contradicting what Os was saying.

I don’t think he is defending it?

I think all anyone is saying here is:

1 - Europe has weakened itself a great deal in the past twenty years. Undeniably true.

2 - As a result it’s relied too heavily on its security on America. Undeniably true.

3 - It’s not going to be winning any big league scraps without American help. Undeniably true.

4 - Trump is a bellend. 100% cast iron true.

Actually I have faith that Europe can win this without the USA - and can see a global realignment with Canada, Europe and Australasia excluding the US.

The big issue is that saying this is like doing us a favour is like dumping a 4 year old in the Atlantic to help him swim. Everything about this is wrong and a dereliction of duty from the US which SET ITSELF UP as the protector of the West.

You do make me laugh. Your world view is literally one of a child <laugh>

    ‘protector of the west’? <laugh>

They ruthlessly created a global hegemony by systematically weaponising the global financial system and simultaneously expanding military bases all across the globe.

Sometimes I honestly think the world is such a mess because most people get all of their history knowledge from Hollywood.

I said ‘set themselves up’. You can’t read. Now go back to the last post and prove you are not a liar.

    Liar.

Literally any studies or scientists & meteorologists that speak out against the western elites global climate agenda get ruthlessly silenced and censored.

Twitter and social media were extremely heavily censored up until recently.

There is absolutely scores of evidence for all of this, (including direct testimony from the owners of the platforms and the governments themselves) you just chose to be wilfully blind

Give me one specific example of Europe censoring this information. Otherwise it is repeated lies

For clarity, repeating lies knowing they are lies is still lying. Fact checking is not censorship. Scientific debate is not censorship.

And when asked about European censorship, don’t give examples of American companies. It is dishonest.

I can do this all day.

Because JD Vance is right. The EU suppresses speech and science and tries to control public opinions both online and using legacy media.

Also you can search for yourself

Go on Google now and search for science articles that attempt to debunk climate change. You will barely find any.

There are scientists and meteorologists that have spoken out vociferously about how their funding was cut.

True science is not being allowed to happen.
Only one side of the argument is being allowed to discuss their findings.

Lies are not allowed. Facts are. Bad science in bad faith is not allowed. But it has been reviewed and debated and proven false. You are deluded.

A little light reading from. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climate_change_denial Contains many links to verifiable sources. Interesting last paragraph re the use of tobacco lobbyists.

"Climate change denial (also global warming denial) is a form of science denial characterized by rejecting, refusing to acknowledge, disputing, or fighting the scientific consensus on climate change. Those promoting denial commonly use rhetorical tactics to give the appearance of a scientific controversy where there is none. Climate change denial includes unreasonable doubts about the extent to which climate change is caused by humans, its effects on nature and human society, and the potential of adaptation to global warming by human actions. To a lesser extent, climate change denial can also be implicit when people accept the science but fail to reconcile it with their belief or action. Several studies have analyzed these positions as forms of denialism, pseudoscience, or propaganda.

Many issues that are settled in the scientific community, such as human responsibility for climate change, remain the subject of politically or economically motivated attempts to downplay, dismiss or deny them—an ideological phenomenon academics and scientists call climate change denial. Climate scientists, especially in the United States, have reported government and oil-industry pressure to censor or suppress their work and hide scientific data, with directives not to discuss the subject publicly. The fossil fuels lobby has been identified as overtly or covertly supporting efforts to undermine or discredit the scientific consensus on climate change.

Industrial, political and ideological interests organize activity to undermine public trust in climate science.
Climate change denial has been associated with the fossil fuels lobby, the Koch brothers, industry advocates, ultraconservative think tanks, and ultraconservative alternative media, often in the US. More than 90% of papers that are skeptical of climate change originate from right-wing think tanks. Climate change denial is undermining efforts to act on or adapt to climate change, and exerts a powerful influence on the politics of climate change.

In the 1970s, oil companies published research that broadly concurred with the scientific community's view on climate change. Since then, for several decades, oil companies have been organizing a widespread and systematic climate change denial campaign to seed public disinformation, a strategy that has been compared to the tobacco industry's organized denial of the hazards of tobacco smoking. Some of the campaigns are even carried out by the same people who previously spread the tobacco industry's denialist propaganda."
