I suspect it may not be as tiny as you think but then that is your opinion, and i agree not many would pay £8 in these hard times for so many, but that only adds fuel to the fire as there could also be many that would vote a yes vote if membership was free. You and everyone else does not know if that would be the case.
If you'd just put the first line of your original post, then I wouldn't have had an issue, it was only the 'it was essentially a bought vote' bit I thought was misleading.
Nobody knows what a free vote of season ticket holders would bring, but as we've been calling for one for two years and the club have been refusing one for two years, I think we can draw our own conclusions(as will the FA).
It is not really misleading is it,as you said in your opinion you suspect the amount joined since the vote was a tiny amount, therefore these people have joined to be able to vote hence they have had their hand forced to pay £8 to get that vote.
[/QUOTE] As a Labour Party donor you can bet he won't apply that logic to the election and that all the non voters would have voted for the winning party giving them an even bigger win. Not politics OLM, just giving. Comparison to show how little validity that argument has). Something those who said they couldn't be bothered voting as it doesn't affect thing should think about in future.
You cannot draw a conclusion on what you think as it has not happened, myself if i made a conclusion i would think some of you may be very surprised at what would happen.
For some, it won't be a case of not being bothered, but a feeling that neither of the existing voting opportunities represented them.
The FA told the Allams they should poll season ticket holders, they have not done so, the FA will certainly draw conclusions from that. I don't think I'd be surprised at what would happen, that's why we've been calling for it for two years. Not only do I think that it would be a resounding No To Hull Tigers, but I think it would be far more resounding now, than it would have been a year ago.
I actually think the opposite,if Allam does eventually do a poll he is waiting for the perfect time possibly where many will be fed up of the whole situation and will vote for his way forward just to end it all,you can see the damage the groups are doing to themselves just at the games and the response to them now being shown from certain area's booing them. These are the silent majority that will vote in Allams fav if and when he decides to do a poll the longer this goes on the more support he will get more so from the groups at the games driving them towards him.
The overall turn out seems to have dropped. Previous release. The question asked was: Do you agree to the Club's request to change its playing name from Hull City AFC to Hull Tigers? YES or NO. The results were as follows: Members who voted YES: 377 (40.5%) Members who voted NO: 555 (59.5%) Ballot form sent to 1477 members Total number of votes received: 932 Turnout: 63%
It will only end if the FA give him his wish,if not he will carry on and eventually all the discontent the groups are creating among fans at the games will swing it for him when he does decide to do a poll which he will when the time is right. But at the moment he is waiting and letting the groups continue to help his cause,if you cannot see that angle and how this man thinks then you obviously only think about your own corner and not what the other side is actually doing at this exact time. And don't tell me the groups are not doing themselves any damage you only have to look at the growing discontent towards them at games and every person who boo's will be a vote for Allam in the end.
You say i am deluded,if you think there is no silent majority then you are deluded as will be proven if Allam does eventually do a poll there will be a lot more votes cast for him then you think. You are the type of person that will appear shocked if suddenly thousands voted for him then not, there are many that will vote on a free poll and don't think because you asked for a poll and he has not done one yet proves a point it would only be because he is waiting for the right time to do it.
He can't do one now, it's too late, hence my sarcastic comment about him doing it for the third 2016/17 application.
For that strategy to work, he has to live long enough. He's not getting any younger you know. Possibly if he drives all the fans away it might work but he will, by then, have lost his loan money-thats buying votes!!!!!
The vote for 2016/2017 application would make more sense based on the number of long term City passholders like myself who are not renewing. Many of us are simply fed up with Allam, name change & the new breed of Premiership fans at games. We are also probably all anti name change, so loose a few thousand of us & it will skew any future ballot. I suppose the only thing which may help redress that imbalance would be that after a season in the Championship we may also have lost a number of those new Premiership fans as well. Allam will however probably point to the name change refusal as part of the reason for our relegation as the "new revenue" it would have created would have allowed spending to keep us up (which would be funny as we spent (badly) more than most clubs immediately above & below us)
