We as fans all like debate (thats why we come on here) but will never agree on all things and to be fair, the perilous state of the club this season had many of us depressed and despondent. Having witnessed 8 relegations in my 40 years, I think it was pretty evident that relegation under PDC was an absolute cast iron certainty, just as many thought it was under MoN. I now believe both sentiments to be probably true and with 1 point form the first 8 games, I feel it wasn't just the doomsayers that were posting on here thinking we would be relegated but rather many very concerned and passionate fans who just wanted change. We should all now feel incredibly relieved that Gus has taken up the challenge here, a relief you didn't exactly extend by telling a huge portion of them to 'f**k off' did you?

You are no more loyal or passionate than the next supporter Smug but I do get the feeling in your mind at least, you really do think you are 'the' most passionate and 'the' most loyal in the world. I'm afraid to tell you you're not. Sunderland AFC is an institution that belongs to everyone, not the individual and I welcome EVERY loyal fans opinion, even if at times I will passionately voice my opinions in contradiction to them. You got EXACTLY what you sought in opening this thread and cannot be surprised that there have been many voices telling you that you were wrong to start it with such language.

Keep posting the good stuff we all appreciate and lay off this kind of post in future and this forum will be all the better for it.

We've got a little gang of first class twits on here, of which I'm a proud member (emphasis on member), who enjoy having a go at each other and a bit of one upmanship. Let the "classy" ones have their threads (I will always find people who think they're civilized by muttering boring platitudes hilarious), and we'll contribute on those when we see fit with the right sort of comments, but these threads are for a laugh.

Tend to agree with a lot of this. Can we all stop holding each other to account please? Trouble with the board is that everything is written down and people can be a bugger for referring back to previous posts. If you're in the pub and say something twatty you just hold your hands up and everyone forgets all about it. On here, there's a tendency to go with the "you said...you said" routine.

The amount of times I've changed my opinion on footballing matters is absurd. Fickle nature of fanship.

I'm sure I'd not find one coherent stance on anything from beginning of 606 to not606, with the exception of my aversion to racism and the media's obsession without outing gay players like we care, if I looked through all my posts.

On the second topic, I see they're still trying to cram it down our throats that we should care. The BBC even have a handy list of gay players next to their latest article on the subject... It's like a witch hunt <doh>. I don't care if they shag David Cameron, as long as they play ok on the pitch.
