I love seeing the insight but I do genuinely wonder why people are randomly standing outside the SoL on a Wednesday evening.dont get me wrong; fair play to them but can they not gan for a Kebab or something instead? <laugh><cheers>

To be fair there's the Colliery Tavern, a large hotel, aquatic centre and sports facilities there ...

... plus a bloke randomly standing outside gawping at the stadium <laugh>

There's still some decent, proper, boozers in Sunderland ...

... they're national treasures and becoming scarce around the country.

The Dun Cow is still doing great business. Helped by the renovated Fire Station next door bringing lots of midweek activity to the city centre. All of the stuff at the Sheepfolds makes a nice little route from the north side of the water then over new footbridge once completed.

I like the Dun Cow, it was on our route at one time.

Over the years we've had various main pubs then others on our way to the stadium. The Blue Bell was favourite when the Cockney firms used to come into that station, then we had the Continental for a while, the New Derby and Harbour View ...

... we even had Greens, at one time, until it got too busy.

The Victory was a good place but, once it started to fade, we left before the memories we're spoiled.

My m8 just been up the ticket office this morning reckons it’s shambolic big queue of folk who’s not received plastic card and digital season ticket they reckon it’s a third party error/problem, he was given a paper ticket for Sunday and told if he hasn’t received his proper ticket by Tuesday to go back for a paper ticket for the Burnley game, said he felt for the 2 girls that were work the desk

When we were back last year we spent a lot of time at the Fire Station. Really enjoyed it.

Disappointing. Sounds like new Vaux are dislodging original Vaux :-( Can we not have both?

Sad really, as my first thought when Vaux is mentioned is Double Maxim, Samson not what the new brewery offers
