This is from the new shirt release in the Echo. The kit will not have a sponsor. There will be a sponsor and fans will be able to go to club shops when sponsor is known and the club shop will apply it for you if you like. I do not comprehend how people do not understand this :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I would imagine the sponsor will be sorted in time for the home kit release, but maybe they do an option without.

I didn't think of it that way but you might be right. That would be pretty unique, the only thing I can think of similar is when Barcelona put the UNICEF logo on their shirt front for nothing. The publicity and good press they got for it was out of this world at the time.
Was also a way to con their fans into agreeing to sell front of shirt in future…

I would imagine it will be the same if no sponsor is arranged yet. You take your home shirt to the club shop and they will apply it for you, or buy the shirt with it already applied when sponsor is announced. The pink shirt will not be available to buy with a sponsor at any time (probably to cater for USA market), but it will have a sponsor on players shirts when we get one and you can get that sponsor logo applied in club shops retrospectively if you want to. It's like drawing teeth here :emoticon-0140-rofl:

What will the do for games then ?sponsor or no sponsor?Tha punter adding to something they have bought on a individual basis is different from official sponsorship .The elvis estate must have agreed a position on this?

The players shirts will have a sponsor, if and when we get one. You WILL NOT be able to buy a shirt with a sponsor already applied AT ANY TIME. But, you can have the sponsor applied in any club shop retrospectively if you want. The Elvis Estate has no say what you do with the shirt after you buy it. It is now your property and you can do anything you like with it, including having a sponsor applied .

Are you directly itk about this?I understand the individual stuff but are you saying the club could put any sponsor they want onto the pink shirt and they can do nowt about it ?The elvis estate is very protective of the image so im surprised there are no restrictions?

The club themselves have said you can have the sponsor (when announced) applied in the club shop. It is not my opinion. It is what Sunderland AFC says themselves. If there is no sponsor on the players shirts why would the club offer to apply a sponsor in club shops retrospectively when the players don't have one. Elvis estate is getting £5 for every shirt sold, that's why it is £5 dearer than the other 2 shirts.
