We scored some absolute worldies against them in the PL (Jelavic, Diame, Aluko, ...)

Jelavic and Diame in the same game! I couldn't believe we didn't win that. Really was a season of what ifs.. We were so stop-start at the start of that season. Off the top of my head the dropped points to Stoke, Newcastle, Arsenal, that really threw away much of a chance of staying up. Then again, Leicester would have gone down instead of us and not won the title the following season.

They beat us 1-0 at our spot and we really didn’t deserve to lose. Mahrez curled on into the bottom corner against the run of the game. I’m positive the goal started their eventual run to win the league.

Baz's predicted XI: Pandur, Giles, Hughes, Ajayi, Coyle, Amir, Slater, Joseph, Crooks, Gelhardt, Drameh.

I'd have Ndala in there for Drameh.

I'd have thought surely it's a question of whether you stick with the back three and maybe just swap Coyle for Drameh, or go with a back four and bring in one of Destan or Ndala for Egan. Switching to a back four and making Drameh the extra attacking player seems like a pretty bonkers idea.

What's everyone's obsession with dropping Drameh? The lad plays well and then is just shunted back to the bench for Coyle who was awful v Birmingham and didn't look impressive at all off the bench on Saturday.

Giving him the captaincy seems to have nailed him a spot no matter how poor he plays.

Not sure what Drameh's meant to be doing in that lineup. Typo on Baz's part maybe?

If Joseph had the technical ability of a Tufan, Mcburnie or Belloumi he'd be premier league without a doubt.

At this level, you rarely get blistering work rate in the same package with mesmerising ability, and if they do, they tend to spend significant time out in the physio room.

Yet you still need a blend of both. Players like Joseph, Slater, Coyle, et al are the glue which holds a coherent team together.

They contribute as much if not more than the 'stars' in the side by providing the platform for them to go and play.

City fans have always needed a scapegoat, and it's always been this kind of player.

Ultimately though, even the best bricklayer in the world is nothing without his labourer, the best sous-chef is nothing without his commis, a chief still needs his Indians and it's exactly the same on a football pitch.
Ndala needs to start and let's see what he can do. If he isn't doing it by half time then hook him.

He always looks dangerous to me no idea what he’s got against him

Williams, Mccarthy and Shehu are starting for the U21's today, so are not going to be in tomorrow's squad, but Pharrell Brown may well be.
If we’ve only got 14 fit senior players and those three aren’t going to be in the squad then I wonder who is going to be on the bench?
Maybe Sergej is keeping a lid on the possibility of one or two surprise returns? Seems unlikely but otherwise it looks like the bench will be a bit light on numbers.

We really need to stop letting teams have the last word in matches. Seem to have got into the habit of conceding late goals no matter how dominant we've been during the game - Charlton, Leicester, Brum, Southampton and Watford have all come back at us, even Sheff Utd were denied the same through Pandur's penalty save. Is it a lack of concentration or just naturally standing off once we've gone ahead? We've got away with it in most of those games but it'd be nice if it was us that finished off the scoring.

Need to get at them early, increase the rumblings in the crowd to the point they are on their backs early doors, and don't let them get a head of steam up...Sorry, but I can't see that XI doing that. It really does emphasis we are missing six key players who would start tomorrow. Got a home win written all over it. Pray I'm wrong.

Hot diggity dog, I just checked and it was 6-0 on aggregate, although it was 1987, age shall weary them!

I do remember it because my uncle went, but he didn’t have enough space in the

I think he’s been really under-utilised, but obviously I’m not at the top of the knowledge ladder atm so I could be wrong. I had high hopes the first few times I saw him.
