Looks like it's Dawson and Bruce to start on Saturday, but Maloney's a doubt after getting a knock in training yesterday... http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Shaun-Maloney-injury-blow-Hull-City/story-28608919-detail/story.html
I'm not sure I'm overly happy about Dawson starting I suppose it's about fitness, but the state of the pitch might be a concern He is quite important to us I think !
I noticed Dawson was in Sky Sports News London Studio doing a job of viewing and reporting on Forest last night so I assume he isn't being considered for this week for fitness or risk reasons.
Ah yes, Maloney - forgotten all about him! Bruce is sensible enough to go with this 'second string' on Saturday then see how Dawson gets on before making his mind up about Burnley. Having the chance to play 3 at the back again can only be to our advantage in being able to switch tactics if either the opposition, or events, call for it.
"He's too old to stay fit" Well, that's pretty ridiculous logic, though considering your weird vendetta against Maloney and your hope that he'd be ****, I'm not surprised.
The wrong side of 30, far more likely to pick up soft tissue injuries. I said it before we signed him and people rubbished me but they have a fair bit of egg on their faces now. How many games has he started for us?
On that basis we wouldn't have signed Dawson either and he's arguably our best player, so nobody has egg on their faces, it was bollocks when you said it and it's bollocks now.
You mean the Michael Dawson who has missed probably half the games since he's been here with soft tissue injuries? Ah yes, boy oh boy I take it back, players over 30 have no fitness issues.
Quick question - how many games had Diomande started, and is he on the 'wrong' side of 30? I definitely don't have egg on my face. Dawson is over 30 you arse, is he not good enough either?
Other players get injured too. Funnily enough I slated his signing too, so thanks for reminding me I was right there too. See above about Dawson. Great player but only good for half a season.
You think we shouldn't have signed Dawson? For the record, he's played in 70% of our league games since he signed. As Quill says, our most injured player is 25. A player is obviously more prone to injury the older he gets, but when a player is in his early 30's, it's not a significant enough factor to not sign them.
Dawson played 75% of the games last season. This season he's played about 70% of them. I presume based on your logic, you wouldn't have signed Dawson. Or Koren. Or Deano. Your logic on older players is astonishingly shocking. "He's 30? Must be injury prone and ****, then." Have a lie down. You sound like a ****ing plastic with logic like that.
Maloney had a set back after a knock in training. Dawson has so far completed all sessions this week. His return is earmarked for the FA Cup game. Personally I'd save him for the league, which has to be of greater importance.
Not good enough, too old, based on what Syd said. He didn't play in the playoff final, must've been ****.
