This exactly. Regardless of who it is, we need to back them until it becomes obvious that they can't deliver.

Those of us who went through the era between Denis Smith and Peter Reid will probably be more accepting of someone who does a good job versus someone who is a big name! Seen it all!
What was wrong with Crosby and Butcher like?

Don't forget Buxton and the fact we spent some decent money in those days and were still terrible.
Haha it was a laugh, though. What was the name of that yardie we signed fresh out of jail again? He was proper ****e <laugh>

Jamie Lawrence. Pretty sure it may have been a midweek game when he made his debut, Luton? Was hyped up about having rapid pace and a long throw. Garbage!!

I'm unsure of your background but interviews and negotiations all take time to sort out. I'm not bothered if it takes another week or two if that means SD nails down his top target who he believes is best equipped to get us promoted.

I'd rather that than just chucking the first bloke in charge who can get here by the weekend just to keep fans like you happy.
Funnily enough I am a manager who employs other managers, but to compare it to football is rather silly, don't you think
We are already behind the promotion pack, 8 days is long enough to carry out interviews and appoint someone equipped to get us promoted. Weird like, but I doubt "Fans like me" is in the forefront of his mind. Not sure where I said the first bloke who can get here should get the job. Smacks of small time

I remember that game vividly. He mishit a clearance into the paddock that nearly took my head off.
He went on to have a decent career though. Played in the Premier League for Bradford City and played in the League Cup Final for Leicester.

I don't need to know what's currently going on, the fact is we have been without a manager for 8 days and just a few days before a pretty important game against an in form team, we still haven't appointed anyone
You may find that acceptable, I don't.

Stuart Donald must have been thinking about sacking Jack Ross for some time, so to sack him without having someone lined up or a plan to replace him is pretty poor don't you think?

If he makes a mistake and does not correct it, this is called a pisstake.

Would this not be something of a positive? If he gets a long term contract I'll be worried, but until the end of the season with no changes to staff might suggest they want someone who doesn't want to massively change the style of play but do it more effectively and who, crucially, won't cost anything to get rid of should investors come in and want their own man. From a takeover perspective it sounds fairly positive, whereas Pearson and staff for 3 years, or Stendel long term trying to change the style of play sounds like something harder to get in place then change if and when investment is signed off. I think Parkinson could have a good go at getting us up this season, I just think he's an uninspiring longer term option, if it's just for this season whilst investment comes in then I'd be happy
I can see where your coming from but pinning all of your hopes on one man for 9 months (BSA excluded) and hoping he can give you promotion sounds good.. What if he does'nt achieve promotion, what happens then. I'd far sooner have a longer term plan, we cant guarantee investors, to give us a sounder base other than what we found Jack ross was capable of.. 2 year contract would suffice most.
