True, but it's a chicken and egg situation, trigger fingers are not the answer, but neither is sticking with failure, its all down to timing imo, and in this current situation I would have given Ross till Xmas, but would have sounded out his replacement before making a move in public, risky I know, but sadly, all is fair in love and war.

My problem with him, and possibly the attraction for Donald, is that he's another Ross.

As with the takeover I keep getting the feeling that Donald wants to retain control.

He's having the time of his life at Sunderland and he'll never be at such a big club ever again.

Pearson or SKP wouldn't allow him to interfere and I'm sure the Americans feel the same.

The danger is that he holds the club back for his own personal benefit.

I agree except with the KP part - he wouldn't in my opinion have the character and personality to stand up to owners in his first big gig.

I think in general most posters rightly or wrongly are assuming they would be a duo with Pearson at the helm which would be my choice and many others , KP would benefit in learning from someone he has worked for previously at a club he loves .

The problem, for me, is that I can see Parkinson accepting a contract until the summer and using the existing staff.

If that happens Donald will see his support plummet.

I don't see what Parkinson has done that makes him better than Stendel, apart from he's been around L1/L2 for a lot longer.

Well I read he played across the defence and mostly at cb. I believe he also spent time playing in midfield.
Doesnt really lessen my argument or statement much. In his 'defence' as a player he was very very low on the food chain.

I thought the same after reading what you said in the takeover thread. Surely Donald can't be as stubborn and contrary as Ashley...there's certainly echoes of him though.

Mike Ashley can afford to be stubborn.
By all accounts his net worth ranges between 1.5bn to 2bn.
He is immune to any cheap shots in replica shirts and bad haircuts.
Donald on the other hand is worth well under 10m and he is responsible for the liabilities this club incurs.
He wants to make a profit on this club. He didnt take over the club because of Netflix or terminal altruism. Fair enough.
But if he tried to run it down he would lose big time and wouldnt recover.
Comparing him with ashley is comparing a 20 yo mondeo with a brand new top of the range ferrari

Hounded out the same as Bob Murray was I mean, by the fans.

He's massively egotistical, no doubt.

Being on the podcasts, in the pub, in the crowds, Trafalgar Square, etc. etc. - he loves being centre of attention so it wouldn't surprise me if he's trying to control everything.

I didn't say that it did alter your argument. He certainly came to Hartlepool as a full back and was played there during his time at Pools.
