I would be very surprised if a manager like Mark Hughes is happy to accept a contract only to the end of the season. If he values himself he would want a 3 year deal. Don´t be surprised if he tells Saints to stuff it. I would, as he is better than that meagre offering.

How many more chances will he get to manage in the PL?, he's managed most of them already!

Honestly, our like or dislike for a manager does not stop or affect our ability to support the team. I can live with it so long as we deliver entertaining football

He actually won 8 of his 34 matches at QPR. As bad as his tenure there is known, we'd kill for 8 wins in 38 - let alone in 34.
The only one where it went belly-up was at QPR. Until the final three months at Stoke, he was doing a more than adequate job.

Had actually heard this pretty much as soon as he got the sack at Stoke.
Not happy with that as an appointment long-term, but ultimately we need someone to steer us away from danger; which I think is going to be very tricky now.
I been hearing all day that the club wants someone with Premier League experience, which rules out a lot.
My choice would still be Marco Silva right now, but by the sounds of it he may well have agreed to Sams replacement at Everton.

If it were Hughes, they could do a lot worse than having someone like Dave Merrington around the place. Probably a bit too long in the tooth to be active on the training field, but that guy knows football and is a good positive character, which is something we are missing since Koeman.
As I say for me, if we can get out of this AVB would be a good, young, ambitious choice.

- Peter Bosz - Probably not my number one target, as he messed up at Dortmund. Apart from that he has a pretty good record in Dutch and Israeli football.
- AVB - I never really liked him that much but actually on reflection his record is very impressive even at Chelsea and Spurs, where he was deemed to have failed. The more I think about it. He's actually my first choice I think. Not even in the odds, so seems unlikely.
- Nigel Pearson - Unlikely I think given what happened at Leicester. Currently managing in Belgium, since fairly recently; but sure he would jump at the chance to be back in the Prem. Good experience of getting out of this situation and if we did go down, getting out of the Championship.
- Manual Pellegrini - again got the Prem experience, albeit not in a relegation battle. Decent record everywhere. Think he failed really and Man City given the resources, but realistically we aren't going to be winning leagues. Someone who averages a win in every two would do for me.
- Roberto Mancini - again decent record. All of these
- Harry Redknapp - would be a terrible appointment if he took us down. Can you imagine the laughs from down the road. However, we need someone to get us out of the .... He picks the best players and puts them in the position. Would put an arm around players and get their heads up. If I am honest, in the short term he would be ideal, but as I say; if he took us down It'd be horrendous.
- Glenn Hoddle - Similar to Harry, I think he could get spirits up and would be a very good appointment until the end of the season.

Being serious, I suspect Boufal would be seeing more game time under Hughes.
