An odd signature to have.
It could have been relevant had the circumstances not been different in 1908-09.
But as the saying goes;
"He who laughs last laughs longest or best."
We might have lost 1 - 9, but, so what.
They say every dog has its day, and it was never more truer with that result for Sunderland, however, when the prizes were given out at the end of the season,
the First Division Championship was proudly paraded around St James Park.
I would imagine Toon fans back then would've been more than happy with the end result being
English Champions, I know I fondly appreciate that bit of NUFC's history and heritage and I cant see one result knocking the smile off any Toon fans face all those years ago.
As far as the SAFC fans were concerned in 1909, who knows, it's possible that they may have been as bitter and twisted as the current lot, but that would take some doing, wouldn't it.
So please JPF, whilst I realise that Bri is one of your more avid personal fans, don't be so critical of his signature, just remember that saying
"He who laughs last laughs longest or best" and rejoice as Toon fans did in April 1909.
Not much changed in the 105 years between us and them, has there.
