Harrison Reed and others - including Tom Cairney - did his leg work
If tc is doing the leg work then it really can’t be that hard can it? He was hardly a Roy Keane

maybe seri need players around him who are comfortable on the ball and show for the ball in tight spaces and play little triangles
That’s how I recall Fulham last season when I saw them
Seri holds onto the ball for us but doesn’t have options and gets caught with it
Give him options and he’ll look brilliant

You cannot play alfie jones in DM, hes far too sluggish in receiving the ball and his distribution is awful, see the QPR game away and others where hes caught in possession.

Sadly this levels a step to far for the lad. As a stopgap till we can actually find a mobile DM, id convert Doherty who has the legs and the physicality Slater lacks.

Its our only option, unless the lad from chelsea Xavier Simon can do a job, who does actually play that role.

I think the teams currently hindered by Jones, Elder and Coyles sloppiness in possession although i do like Coyle who gives it his all. Major problems building from the back and recycling possession, sort them and our attacking players will shine

Well said, most supporters don’t just don’t see it like this. Whilst he’s looking and waiting and sometimes gets caught out he’s crap, they aren’t looking beyond that and thinking why didn’t anyone make the run or give him options, he will certainly have had that with a decent Fulham side and looked a much better player.

We do seem to be unable to recycle posession which is why a lot have identified the lack of a ball-winner/enforcer alongside the likes of Seri, Slater and Tufan as the issue.

That's not to say its impossible to find a solution from within the current crop, but the lack of a gritty destroyer type makes it harder.

Same criticism is levelled at Alfie Jones
I think the team on the whole need more options and that’s probably one of the reasons we pass back so much. no doubt we have some decent footballers but to only win one game in recent weeks is so poor. Do we hold onto the ball well enough?, Often the keeper as to throw it out short because kicked forward it comes straight back, do we have enough INTELLIGENT runners in the midfield with pace?. In general have we enough pace in the team ? When you are under pressure do we have good tacklers, everyone will have a different view on it all but think most will agree the balance just isn’t right. The big question now is how to change and improve it because we need to get some better results.

Hearing a whisper that Daws will take the reins for the foreseeable. I love Daws and hope he does well, but I can see him "doing a Barmby" and it ruining affiliation with the club.

How long is the foreseeable? up to the World Cup break? Surely that will give Acun and Tan enough time to sort through all of the high quality candidates who have applied for the job!

Not sure where this "Tufan isn't mobile" talk has come from, he's more than capable of tracking back and covering ground and has done on several occasions. I think people have the "fat and lazy" idea etched into their subconscious now.

He's very similar to Koren in the way that for parts of the game it'll pass him by, but when he gets on the ball you know there's quality. When we actually do end up with a goalscoring chance, he's more often than not involved in it. I wouldn't have him out of the team unless he's absolutely **** for a long period.

Slater has been alright, he's had a few games where he's done really well but other than that he's been pretty average. Doc will take his place and deservedly so.

I'd have Doc and Tufan as the two central midfielders and then Pelkas (if fit) in front of them. Sinik on the left, Williams on the right. Oscar through the middle.

Williams and Sinik have the pace we need, both are decent crossers of the ball so for me that works. It means Pelkas can feed off the midfield or join in with his link up play, which he's shown to have a very good eye for. Some haven't been impressed by Williams, I was and there's a player in there I think we can use. Only 25 too so lots of room to improve.

Longman needs to be dropped, would be nice to see Simons come in as he looked very good in the U21s game but only from the bench, otherwise we could end up with another Harvey Vale style debut. People are knocking Cannon, but he is a grafter and he will get stuck in, perhaps that's what we need. He'll want to impress and that might up his game.

Or, give Olly Green or Harry Wood a go. There's a few of the U21s that might be ready to step up, a few are already training with the first team.
I thought Simons started the youth game?
