I think he has been brought in to head the department. They want him to do well, of course, bit of a yes man, I would suppose.
Didn't Garcia say no because he wanted his back room & that was a sticking point? Seems strange now.

I'm not being positive vs negative. I'm giving someone a chance. Like 99% of the people here I'd not even heard of the guy previously. The same as I'd not heard of Pochettino. I don't know, therefore, if he'll be good or bad. But one thing I'm not doing is saying "he'll definitely be dreadful, this is a terrible decision" based on......well......nothing.

I've read up what I can find out about Puel so that when all my mates who support the usual suspects ask me about him, I can fill their heads with all sorts of reasons why he's the man for us.
A quick sprinkling of Saints magic dust on him, and I'll be proved right, my mates will think I'm a football genius and this board will be happy again <cheers>

Well, do you think we'll boo from day one? No. Do we have the right to say, ****, this wasn't what i hoped for? Yes. This is not a managerial combo that anyone will be jealous of. Fact. Absolute fact. Championship sides will laugh. The black box is a ****ing spreadsheet.

The most important thing here spaced Saint is he word "was"... People are saying it and he hasn't even got here yet. That's what pisses me off. I'll be right up there moaning if it goes wrong, but to moan before anything happens is mental. It's very sad and I actually feel sorry for the people who are like that. They must lead very sad lives.

Did I say that - no. I want Saints to do well above anything else but if it does come to us struggling down the lower reaches of the table I won't miss the opportunity to give some **** back after you've sat on your high horse tonight.

But when the virtually unknown MP came in, they knew the high tempo high press fitted with what we had. Now, I'm not so sure.
He has my backing, Les has barely put a foot wrong, but I'm not sure the magic dust will rub on this one. Bloody hope so, if this comes of, people will have to believe forever more.......

Championship sides won't laugh, because like you, they probably don't know an awful lot about him. If the black box is a spreadsheet, wow, it's been a pretty bloody good one going by history to date (which is all any of us can go by at this juncture).

No, it's fine to have an initial fear or concern. But to basically state "this is ****" is ridiculous before the guy has even set foot in the place.
