I think we get ourselves whipped up in a tizzy because we spend much of the day speculating, worrying etc. Reality is, it's not gone on too long really (in terms of recruiting a key staff member).

He's a lot more high profile (especially with Bergkamp) than Puel, and they have won a hell of a lot more too.

I really don't care about profile. I just want someone who can do a good job and fit in well here.
Being a big name and managing the best team in your country doesn't mean I'm automatically really bothered to have you.
I always say it, but Mauricio had won nothing as a manager and got sacked with Espanyol (his one and only managerial gig in the game) in 20th, but boy, he fit us like a glove and he was a terrific manager and coach into the bargain.

He has won 4 titles in 6 years in what is a 1 horse race, alot more funds too. It doesnt fill me with optimism.
Puel in a non starter for me, too much like "Reggie Perrin" for me....he's in his 50's and hasn't done anything of note for 15 years in France. Poch was a LOT younger and had already gained a rep as a disciple of Bielsa and bringing through kids.
And what has Puel achieved?....I'll back him if he is appointed and I hope that you would back FdB also.
Yeah, I don't get much of a 'vibe' from reading about Puel. I could be wrong though.
Marco Silva, after some reading and questioning, sounds very 'us' and quite exciting. Only 38!
Not seen him ruled in anywhere, just going off the English link and the fact that Greek media supposedly think he's been talking to us at least.
Might do some digging on that front.
