I think some of us will be doing that when we eventually get this done. How long does foreplay have to last, before it gets boring?
Puel just went from 5/1 to 1/2, making him the 4th manager to be odds-on favourite haha. I know some people have been banging on about odds and their value in a situation like this but when there is no concrete evidence and the ITKers fall more into the KFA club, you can see why people would read into the betting markets.
But, but, but... Klinsmann and Pellegrini were both favourites or odds on so it MUST be happening and people MUST know something. Same goes for Howe, De Boer and Garcia. Can't be people just being hopeful or having a punt in the hope of winning some money, no sir.
Foreplay has never interested me St badger. I'm a family man who produces cream for a living, thats my passion, not football. However I've been taking my son to Truro City games, as he has aspirations to be a footballer.
Whoever comes in... - Has my support - Deserves time - Deserves to be judged on what they do for us, not what their name is Nothing further to say, your honour. (Fully accept there may be an 'oh/wow/errrrm ok' period - but we've gotta minimise that and get supporting + most importantly, the board will be supportive)
Either LR is being very patient and waiting for his number 1 target, or there is some kind of indecision behind the scenes, which would go totally against the philosophy of the (Southampton Way), in where LR has spoken about having a list off managers in mind at all times. They knew RK was leaving around 3 weeks ago now, and the first crop of players report back in 5 days time. I'm sure most of the players would like to know who the manager is when they come back to work, especially the ones looking at new contract offers as reported? I trust LR and the board, but unless the manager we want is currently managing at the Euros, I really can't see what the massive wait is for, unless choices 1,2,3 etc, have turned down th job?? So the wait continues, and who knows, the new appointment could be Southamptons Ranieri??
Hoddle would go well with Merrington in stating the bleeding obvious and a complete lack of insight when assessing a game. However, Townsend would be a real problem because of his double vision - always shooting towards the goals rather than goal.
If you're having a pop at me specifically DTLW, you could always re-read my posts and there's no mention of the word 'MUST' anywhere. As a bookmaker, probability regards sporting events is where we have to be otherwise we'd go around saying stupid things like 'every odds on favourite will win in at the euros, so let's not offer odds on half of the round of 16 games'. We make money by more often than not laying bets at a very slightly shorter price than the true odds of something happening. In manager markets though, one has to be a little more protective against the possibility of inside information as its obvious that somebody working at the club will know bits of that information before we do. As an FYI for others, all of today's market movements (similar to all others except Klinsmann) seem to be reactive of news released in the press (most likely again leaked by the club), and the worst position in our book by a country mile is still Klinsmann as there's been very little actual betting activity today. Note, again, that does not mean anything should be taken as fact regards any candidates chances. Manager markets can sometimes very easily have someone ruled out that's very quickly ruled back in again as negotiations progress if one party changes their mind because their hand is shown to be weaker than they'd previously hoped.
I would have thought if it was going to be Puel he would have been announced by now.....surely? This Silva fella seems to tick a lof of our boxes.
Telegraph update: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football...test-potential-southampton-manager-to-drop-o/ - Saints seriously looked into Pellegrini - Don't think he suits our player development orientated approach - Not quite the right fit for us on the training ground - Puel and Pereira are candidates - Klinsmann was never even on any shortlist or under consideration - Wanyama sale is imminent - Redmond arrival is imminent - Saints hope to have a new manager by the 28th still
