- Claude Puel now the clear front-runner
- Appointment likely to be made next week
- Saints impressed by his ideas and how he's operated previously
- Seriously explored the possibility of Pellegrini
- Didn't feel that he fitted the club ethos and coaching approach
- Redmond signing imminent, as we've been told before
 
Wouldn't have been my choice, but what do I know?

Welcome to Saints, Claude, and I'm sure the vast majority of us are right behind you. Hopefully some good times ahead. :)

Had a feeling it was Puel soon as his name come up. Hope the fans who don't think he is good enough give him the time and respect to prove them wrong.

If that's the manager the board want to go for, that's good enough for me. Quite liked the idea of Pereira or similar, but the board have got a lot right so trust them with this. Welcome, Claude.

Won the league in his only full season in charge

2nd Job, Lille:
Took them to CL twice, finished 2nd in 2005 (highest finish in 50 years)

3rd Job, Lyon:
Took them to CL semis for first time in history

4th Job, Nice:
Took them to 4th in the league, they were 13th when he arrived

Looking at it like that, isnt to bad.
 
Sounds like Welcome Claude, is in order. Like I said earlier this could be our Ranieri appointment.

Don't know to much about him, but will get fully behind him as always.I just hope he doesn't turn out like the last Frenchman to join the Premier League, eh Aston Villa fans??

You see, when people get so hung up on win % (which has been good across all clubs that he has managed) they don't look beyond that. Sounds like a pretty good set of achievements to be fair.
