I am deciding whether to want Jensen or Rosenior.

This may have been posted before, but have i got this right -

Rosenoir is too possession based, and won't be attacking enough?

Jensen is too defensive and not good tactically?

Let me know if I have these right - I need to make my selection soon in case current choice Will Still moves to Lens at the weekend and I am left with no-one.

I'd agree. You only release stuff like that when you have a signature on a contract. I'll wager the new man has signed on and the announcement will depend on logistics (hopefully flying in from Holland this weekend and not driving up from Hull)
lol. Pity it’s not cloughie crawling up the M1 over broken glass all those years ago.

Might just be me being pessimistic but I think we don’t get a manager until the back end of next week. Why release a statement if it’s going to happen over the weekend? I wouldn’t get too excited

Doesn't matter. They are all Dodds' puppet who only got the job because he's mates with Speakman. Speakman picks the team anyway

Hey football friends,

It’s always fun to see what other fans write and think about your team, and therefor I also couldn’t resist to make a quick post.

There are a lot of mixed feelings about Jansen in Holland. Jansen is a very sympathetic man, calm, friendly. You won’t see him do Simeone or Mourinho stuff, or put out spicy quotes in interviews. Therefor he usually has a good reputation with the Dutch media and Dutch football fans in general. The problem is though, with the main focus on Ajax/PSV/Feyenoord, most of them don’t really watch most games of AZ. His dismissal in January was quite a big shock for the media and fans outside of Alkmaar. For the actual AZ fans it wasn’t.

His upsides for a team like Sunderland are of course that he has an English background. Both language and culture won’t be a problem to fit in. And he likes to invest in personal relations with players. If a player works for him, he will pay that back with confidence when a player has a bad period. He likes to play from a strong organization from the back, he is for sure less attacking minded then Arne Slot who was coach before him. But especially his tactical abilities have always been a point of concern. He likes to stubbornly stick to one game plan. Even if it hasn’t worked over and over. We lost a lot of points to last minute goals under him. His lineups, subs and tactics tend to be almost always the same. Which can be frustrating if things don’t go your way. That would definitely be my biggest downside of Jansen, he isn’t very strong in adjusting a game plan to an opponent or even during a certain game.

So overall it’s a bit mixed. Maybe we were a bit spoiled with Slot who set the bar very high for Jansen. It was Jansen’s first serious coaching job, and he definitely has potential. He’s obsessed with the game and willing to improve himself. I do think English football fits him well. If there are any specific things people like to know, let me know. I would definitely be very anxious to follow Sunderland and see how he performs if it all goes through in the end. His big dream is the Premier league.
Can you give us more of an insight on his plus points?

What formation does he favour and what style of football did he play at AZ?

You forgot Rose Noir (foreigh name) knows the league and has only recently became available.

I am interested in what the club define imminent as because in football that can be anything from now till a months time. Feel like we'll hear something over the weekend now, if not this evening.

It's not supposed to be a measurement of time imo ...

... more like the stage of negotiations.

For this statement to be issued they must have someone in place otherwise they'd doing 'a Sunak' and painting themselves into a seriously embarrassing corner with no way out. I'd guess the manager is agreed with just the precise nature of his staff to sort out.

The idea that there's a department of the club pumping out fake news to 'manage the narrative' on chat forums is ludicrous, nothing can do that because people just ignore what doesn't suit their agenda and post whatever comes into their heads.

My guess is that they must be close but they don’t expect things to be done before Still is announced at Lens. I reckon they’re getting this message out to manage the inevitable lunacy that will appear online once Still takes up his new job. Not that it’ll make any difference to some though. People have been asking for the club to put info out and as soon as they have, the loonies are in uproar!
My thoughts exactly

In a 100 meters sprint the closing stages is the last 2 seconds, in marathon it is longer, in an ultra marathon even longer. This recruitment is very very long.
