Those people would be on his back if we appointed Pep and signed Foden. Some people will never be happy because that's the way they choose to be.
If I was sorted then he wouldn't need this statement surely? We'd just announce who it is. To me this reads like a statement saying it will be a while yet.
Meanwhile on RTG “make a statement” “silence from the club” “it’ll be Dodds” KLD makes a statement that new head coach is imminent “NOT THAT STATEMENT” “FULL OF ****” “DONT BELIEVE THEM” It just shows no matter what the club say or do they can’t win with some.
They communicated when there was something to communicate. That makes perfect sense. Some folk are desperate for Homer's "everything's ok alarm" to sound on an hourly basis to keep them on an even keel.
Hey football friends, It’s always fun to see what other fans write and think about your team, and therefor I also couldn’t resist to make a quick post. There are a lot of mixed feelings about Jansen in Holland. Jansen is a very sympathetic man, calm, friendly. You won’t see him do Simeone or Mourinho stuff, or put out spicy quotes in interviews. Therefor he usually has a good reputation with the Dutch media and Dutch football fans in general. The problem is though, with the main focus on Ajax/PSV/Feyenoord, most of them don’t really watch most games of AZ. His dismissal in January was quite a big shock for the media and fans outside of Alkmaar. For the actual AZ fans it wasn’t. His upsides for a team like Sunderland are of course that he has an English background. Both language and culture won’t be a problem to fit in. And he likes to invest in personal relations with players. If a player works for him, he will pay that back with confidence when a player has a bad period. He likes to play from a strong organization from the back, he is for sure less attacking minded then Arne Slot who was coach before him. But especially his tactical abilities have always been a point of concern. He likes to stubbornly stick to one game plan. Even if it hasn’t worked over and over. We lost a lot of points to last minute goals under him. His lineups, subs and tactics tend to be almost always the same. Which can be frustrating if things don’t go your way. That would definitely be my biggest downside of Jansen, he isn’t very strong in adjusting a game plan to an opponent or even during a certain game. So overall it’s a bit mixed. Maybe we were a bit spoiled with Slot who set the bar very high for Jansen. It was Jansen’s first serious coaching job, and he definitely has potential. He’s obsessed with the game and willing to improve himself. I do think English football fits him well. If there are any specific things people like to know, let me know. I would definitely be very anxious to follow Sunderland and see how he performs if it all goes through in the end. His big dream is the Premier league.
I get that but its done now, got to hope the appointment is close I've not been bothered with lack of communication as i just want to see action Theyll def have to take learnings away from this whole process but hopefully by taking their time theyll nail this appointment
Felt like there should be some communication on last season (usually speakmans breakdown) but that statements enough for me (possibly telling speakman hasn’t done anything?). The use of the word imminent makes me feel it’s done, KLD would be pointlessly putting himself in the firing line if it fell through at the last minute like still possibly and the process goes on another week or 2. We’re nearing the end of this thread lads, it’s been a pleasure, sees yous on the summer transfers soon
I am interested in what the club define imminent as because in football that can be anything from now till a months time. Feel like we'll hear something over the weekend now, if not this evening.
Here we go. The standard forensic analysis of club comms in an attempt to catch them out, or paint them in a negative light. Imminent means imminent. It's not tonight, it's likely next week.
