I quite fancied us having an up and coming exotic foreign manager simply because I thought that was the route we were heading. It absolutely does not guarantee success though and most likely fails more often than it works.

Professional football people at our club have conducted a series of interviews with a range of candidates and have concluded that MB is the best fit for the club going forward and have uplifted Dodds' role for the exact same reasoning. Given that they know a lot more about football management/coaching than I do, then I fully support their decision making here.

If this is to be successful then it is unlikely to be overnight and I hope (probably in vein) that those with their own agenda to pedal or are desperate to be proved right that they know more than the professionals at the club, keep this to themselves and at least give him a chance to prove what he can undoubtedly do.

Someone on RTG says has it on good authority that the team will be picked by Speakman & Dodds and not Beale. Jesus man, and another saying he’s been told 4 players have asked to leave. it’s batshit crazy that place, win a couple of games and Beale will be a god ha.

Even someone with half a brain knows that doesn't make any sense, why would we bother hiring Beale at all if that was the case? Players wanting to leave is slightly more believable but still very unlikely.

Feel sorry for him me. Coming into a club no doubt excited to do well with the back drop of an aggressive negativity. Our fans can be the best but this last few days has been a pretty bad look. Hope he gets to see the good bits.

He shouldn't feel of hear any negativity on Saturday mind. The opposite.

It's up to us to make him feel welcome, and I'll be doing my bit in that.

I think it's pretty clear that the club have appointed Beale entirely out of spite ...

... there I've said it.

Sorry but it's obvious the club don't share the ambition of a section of our support who have much better ideas of how a football club should be run. This is a sad day for a once great club, until recently proudly flying low in L1 and fighting bravely against administration.

As we sit here with an exciting squad of talented players, close to the playoffs and with a big part of the season left to play we should all take a minute to think of our glorious recent past and what might have been.

Why KLD didn't just mortgage the SOL/AOL to the hilt, bring in a bunch of mercenaries and get us into a yearly fight against relegation relegation I'll never know <doh>

I don't know what beale is like as a gaffer but his coaching is ment to be a different level,

No-one does mate.

Ask each Sunderland player anonymously, what they thought about Mowbray, and there'll be different answers ...

... I'm only interested in the style of football, which the club seem to be instilling, and the results.

I'm sure some Leicester players hated Pearson and some Ranieri ... seemed to work though.

It's as simple as this for me.

If we'd appointed some bloke from Natinal League North, once done, I'd back him.

We haven't. We've appointed a very well regarded bloke who dropped a bollock before he left QPR and did at least okay at Rangers. Some say a lot better than that.

But, even none of that matters. He's "one of us" now, so as far as I'm concerned, and I'd guess most others too, he gets our full backing.

Well one thing I’m not concerned about is can he handle a big crowd atmosphere, I wasn’t so sure about the others in the frame.

Class, hope this is true cos thats his role. The biggest challenge him and the rest of the coaches have right now is to get more creativity out of Roberts, Clarke, Pritch etc and get some confidence into the strikers to be more clinical. We need far more attacking goals threat in the final 3rd

Everything else at the moment is ridiculous noise.

I’m not sure it’s confidence they need, balls to feet would be a good start.

One worry I have about this...I hope Doddsy and Proc can gel with him. If they can,our prospects are much better than if there's some kind of clash with training ground methods,or off field player management. Hope MB is mature enough and MD and MP are receptive enough.
A new head coach coming into an already existing set-up,without bringing his own people in, must be a rarity these days,I would guess?
