If we get to the end of the week in the same position I’d agree but it’s football industry holiday season so there could be delays for all kinds of reasons

You're probably right.

I feel foolish for feeling this way. Pretty sure I said on a couple of occasions towards the end of the season that patience and fortitude were required.

I think I'm running low on fortitude.

I’d agree with you if we don’t end up with our first choice.

But playing devils advocate completely, if we end up with Still next week, or even the next, then I’d actually applaud KLD and Speakman for their patience in getting their man, rather than criticise them for how long it took.

Absolutely cannot disagree with that.

mate I go thru wobbles with it as well. Some times of the day I’m relaxed, others I’m disappointed and nervous about it.

if we end up with Still I applaud the patience. If we don’t then I question the decision making and perhaps naivety of our manager search

Like what? We have courted this bloke properly for 2 month and ge knew the offer we gave him, he then ****s off to see Dhelia and her cakes.
Well pardon me, if we are not a better proposition than Norwich he can do one.
We may have Bern looking at him for months. He may have people he knows at Norwich and spoke to them out of courtesy, his agent may have arranged the meeting on his behalf, it may be that he fulfilling a prior commitment to speak to them, It may be something to do with his UEFA licence and the course he is completing. It may be that he is keeping his options open in case we decide to go for another manager as has been floated about on here and social media so he is hedging his bets. I don't know why he was there or what his reasons were but my guess is neither do you.

I think the Norwich news makes it hard to bear a little but maybe we’re holding out for our option one before we move on.

January and summer 2022 transfer deadline days were completed without a head coach and we signed players on both. Including Amad. The way the DoF model works allows that to happen. You'd think after approaching 4 years of it now that people would understand.

Nixon (I know, but this is a discussion forum) seems to be hinting that Still is wanted by KLD but not Speakman, and that his coaching badges are an issue.

If he’s right, and I can definitely believe it, it’s incredibly frustrating. Would also show Speakman ain’t going nowhere. But as @SourPatch2 has pointed out, at least it means the person hired to make these decisions is actually involved.

I can see a scenario where Speakman is saying Still needs to keep Dodds to cover for the fact he doesn’t have all his badges.

all speculation obviously

I also can’t get away from the fact that I think Still will go to Burnley. Just the Belgium connection. Replacing one Belgian for another. Just feels right in a way I hope is just my brain being a dick rather than reality

They’ve been linked to cooper and unbelievably Frank Lampard too haha

I can also see Speakman being loyal to Dodds (which isn’t always a bad thing btw) and not wanting the entourage. Again all speculation and Nixon is a professional attention seeker, so let’s just see.

Incorrect the fact the club have had 3/4 months to get something sorted and we are still sat here a couple weeks before the players return for pre season with no clear plan gives me the conjecture to allow me to have a pop at the club

How do you know "something" isn't already sorted?

It's also about 5 weeks before the players return for pre season.

How do you know there is "no clear plan"?

Stop making things up.

And here comes the latest groundless rumour which will become a 'fact' as quickly as the £20m loan and Sartori buying another club ... this one is that the club is up for sale and KLD needs the money fast.

Even when we appoint the new manager this shyte will just keep being pumped out ...
E ie
... it's like a campaign to find anything to attack the club, if nothing is found just make something up <doh>
Needs the money fast. £9million of his money a season equates to about 0.4 % of the interest he makes a year.

Your right I don't, but I do not want him here anyhow, but over 2 months of chasing, and no nearer an answer, we have ****ed up on his offer or he won't work with the Speakman model.

Surely either of those outcomes leads to an immediate "no" rather than a 2 month dance (if indeed that is what is happening)
