Are we openly saying that as I have not seen this from anybody associated with the club. The only statements I have seen from the club were that we are not a club that needs to sell but will look at every case as they arise and if the deal is right for the player and the club then business may be done. The club has also stated that they are not a selling club but a club looking to build a strong competitive team capable of playing at the highest level.
The only noise about us being a selling club is coming from our own fan base with the ridiculous notion that everything is done on the cheap and their is no investment in the club by the owners which in truth is untrue.
In Essence we need a coach who can do the job and not spend money on the wrong players. For me personally I like the way we are going about rebuilding the club and the team and I see a bright future I think it will take a little patience. Yes we need some more established players to supplement the youth but this is not easy to do as they need to be the right character's with the right mindset and at the right time.
If you notice I use the word established instead of experienced as I think Experienced is often misleading as most fans immediately think about age and players in or around 30 year old, whereas I would consider Dan Neil to be an experienced professional and he is only about 21 but has played over 150 senior games?? but is he what you would call an established Championship/Premier player probably not at this present time which is why having the right coach and making sure our recruitment is very good is paramount to the clubs success. Our academy and youth set up is looking very good now and we are probably on the precipice of seeing if recruitment can deliver the 1 or 2 signings needed to galvanise the squad and take us 1 step further up the road as this season has seen us consolidate but we have not really progressed at first team level but the academy, the youth teams and even the ladies teams have all progressed really well which bodes well for the future and I hope for next season too.
The more I’ve thought about it the more I could get on board with heckinbottom, straight talking honest bloke, they do tend to do well here, convinced it will be Still though
We need experience you say, the only experience he has is the **** show he created the last time he was here.
And as for his passion all that did was create a toxic atmosphere in the changing room so I'm sure he'd been ideal
Bloke is a classy bastard and he’s sharp, I like that kind of profile. Him, O’Neil, Cooper.
Not sure we are in that market sadly.
Class this like. We need experience so I reckon we should get Di Canio who hasn't had a management job since we sacked him and has very little experience up until then!

This is someone unconnected to Sunderland but who works with a sports lawyer, he was involved in a legal dispute between Niall Quinn and Mike Ashley, Quinn lost
I was asking him if there was any gossip about the Sunderland job at the time. Now I can't shake the idea that it's Still they're after hence the insistence that Dodds is there for the season.

I wonder what Dodds/Proctor record is when they've had the job - something like 3 wins in 18 games at a guess.
