never mind scoring the biggest thing he needs to sort out is are organisation at the back and to start keeping clean sheets that's are biggest problem,
Many goals come from the gap between defence and midfield. That needs sorting. Ekwah hasn’t got the heart for that role. Him and Neil need to be pushing each other for the 8.

This all seems clear to me.

Either KLD is running the club his way ...

... or he's a gullible dope and KS is running tge club.

There’s no doubt KS has done wonders for the club. But if he’s over flexing his muscles and encouraging head coaches to pick certain players, then for me he’s crossing the line.

Everybody must be able to work in their roles with freedom and respect. The blame was solely blamed on Neil for his departure, but if what I suspect is right, I can’t entirely blame him for leaving the way he did.

I agree with KS sitting down with the head coach for monthly reports on players etc, but doing it daily is too much and could easily be seen as influencing the manager on who to pick on a Saturday.

Neil leaves on bad terms. Mowbray leaves on bad terms. Now we have Beale who seems like the perfect puppet for Speakman to play with.

Let’s see. I hope I’m miles off. And even with my reservations, I’m still 100% behind the club and the manager like any fan should be.

TBF that's a very big 'if' for all the accusations being made on social media ...

... it's all a bit unsettling.

I’m not sure KS or anyone else picking the team is the problem.

Last season we had a steel spine of Ba’ath, Evans, Amad and Stewart

None of these players have been replaced, that steel is now spaghetti

Its worrying if they think they can coach replacements from what we have, the January window is important for Beale, the fans and possibly KLD himself

I think the general idea of the ‘model’ is brilliant, but I think most people would agree that these inexperienced kids need some help.

This thing Speakman has said about team selection, " the head coach has final say on team selection " that frightens me. i would have thought head coach would have total say on team selection,
It does exactly the opposite for me. It’s a mix of short term goal ‘let’s win the game’ vs. player x is moving on we need to get their replacement up to speed so need to get player y some competitive minutes. It goes with developing players from within the youth teams. It’s a tricky balance. We need to put player y in and see if they come good to plan ahead for next transfer window. For example, maybe Ba is getting game time in the last chance saloon, is he one of those training ground virtuosos who struggle to reach the same level of performance on match day?

Me too mate, set alarm bells ringing when i read it. He could have outright said that the head coach picks the team but he came across as spinning it like a dodgy MP.

There have been whisperings for a while about his involvement in team selection and setup, even Mowbray alluded to pressure. I know a couple of people who are close to players in the youth setup and they have essentially said KS has a big say on team selection too. It would also explain why we ended up with Beale out of all the managers/head coaches linked.

It could be all rumours but there’s no smoke without fire. That KS interview just added a couple of lumps of coal on the fire for me.

Im obviously deluded and being taken in by the club, fair enough, hands up.

Just so I'm clear about what's actually happening, this appears to be the truth I was missing.

  • Speakman picks the team, tactics, subs, etc, and Beale is just a poorly paid puppet.
  • Neil and Mowbray were top managers we let slip through our fingers and will go on to great success if they're allowed to do things their own way.
  • KLD believes the best way to make money is to rip off the fans, take it up the arse from Newcastle and avoid the PL like the plague.
  • The players we're bringing in are sick notes, flops and mercenaries.
  • We're nothing more than a selling club despite not selling any players, except one who may never play again for £10m.
What a relief!

Here was daft old Smug thinking we were bringing in young ambitious players, who need polishing, time and coaching, so we can be a club not plunged into massive debts and uncertainty like Derby, Sheff Wed, Reading, etc etc etc.

Now the scales have been lifted from my eyes I can look forward to a New Year of cynicism without being taken as a complete fool by a club I once supported without question.

Bring back Methven, bring back Short, bring back Stewart, bring back those Irish fellas or them Germans who'd have taken the club back to Europe, FA Cup finals and challenging for the title.

Get the pitchforks handed out, print the banners and let's get these people out ...

... the supporters always know best, I'm on the programme now lads!!!

Hate negativity; it just breeds fail and being down. However, I challenge anyone to bring me a positive about Beale. I do not want him to fail. I want every single poster to laugh at me. However, I think it will be a disaster
Wtf?

He’s a very highly thought of coach. He’s generally been successful in his roles wherever he’s been. Rangers was the exception. Amad Diallo also failed at Rangers before coming to Sunderland.

Ive read online some supporters saying stuff like 'Get rid of KLD. He just doesnt 'get' the club and is just interested in balancing the books. Cheapskate etc. We need an owner who knows what it means to supporters, somebody who supports the club etc'

FFS! How many owners nowadays actually have a genuine affection for the club they own? I just say that being able to balance the books these days is an achievement in itself and compare the players we have now compared to the ones we had 3 seasons ago. That just smells of successful ownership to me.

That’s the very far end of what some people are saying.

It’s been a bit of a disaster for the club the last couple of weeks both on and off the field.

Beale needs to be given a bit of time and we will see if anything changes tactically or selection wise. I just find it incomprehensible that he would pick the same team as our last defeat and the lack of substitutions was mind boggling. Speakman needs to stay quiet as he manages to just make things worse with his interviews.

The club have 100% looked at the amount they can make from ticket sales to the mags before putting our own supporters first with regards to the BCB area.

Other than that KLD is still the best thing to happen to us and overall I truly believe we need to follow this model of buying youth, developing them and then selling some to reinvest in the team. It’s the only way a club like ours can survive let alone progress.

Whilst you have taken everything to the extreme of views, people are allowed to question the lack of improvement off the field.

You have dismissed this as people whinging they can't buy a shirt.

In a very short space of time the off the field operations became even more crucial for all clubs and especially ones that aim to be self sustainable. The new ffp and sustainability rules that are incoming I thought only maxed our wages to 70% of turnover

i was corrected yesterday and its actually wages and transfer spend less than 70% of turnover plus transfer income.

So if its OK, I will keep criticising the club tominprove things off the field as its hugely linked to our ability on it

A Post Office savings account would have a better guaranteed return than a football club ...

... personally I think we're blessed and feel sorry for those who believe we're cursed.

Spot on.

What annoys me is how people are complaining at the current setup, yet Quinn is considered a god while he put the club into millions worth of debt.

I've repeated exactly what people have already posted ...

... ironically it looks exaggerated when it's spelled out back to them.

That's when people take offence and start lashing out in my experience. Yes the club isn't perfect ... never has been and never will be. I just wonder how much whinging people can manage before they become bored with it.

There are wars, famines and endless catastrophes ...

... but people become hysterical over trivialities.

Football seems to be too much for some.

That’s the very far end of what some people are saying.

It's all posted on here verbatim ...

... if you really want me to bore everyone, tell me where I'm wrong and I'll post a quote.

If you really think this is a 'disaster' I'm truly jealous of you.

To me this is like the whole TM thing and getting him out. As mentioned careful what you wish for. How would the ‘fans’ feel if KLD sells out to another company in Saudi Arabia? The young lad is doing a good job steering our club to where it needs to be. KS is under pressure at the moment due to decisions over the Summer but I’m quite sure he like everyone else at the club if he is not performing KLD will make the appropriate decisions. Let’s just keep moving forward with stability and focus HTL!!!

As I've just said, criticism of the club is allowed, admittedly some is way way over the top, but the lashing out comes from both sides of the fence
