It seems like a hard question. Are there any legal services that are close to Netflix for mainstream content? I don't think so, but it depends on your viewing tastes. Disney+ is an option, but it has different content.

I've been streaming/downloading for about 25 years now (from when download speeds made it viable) but I could never limit myself to a single legal service, so I don't. I download content and warch it in a media player.

My current setup uses a home server (a PC/device that is always on, but doesn't need to be I guess) to automatically read and download new episodes as they come out for the TV series I want, then display/view it in Plex, which is a media app for smart tvs/mobile etc. This provides a netflix type interface with episode information/series etc. There are other options to a PC for a server.

I can expand on how this works if anyone is interested. Its pretty simple to set up. If you don't have a spare device you could use a laptop or something but it would only download/let you playback episodes when it is on. With an always on device you can connect to it from anywhere at any time.
Thanks mate, i'd like to know more if you wouldn't mind.
I was thinking about dumping Netflix anyway but the advert thing tipped it for me.

Just watched the first episode of the new season of Westworld, it kicks off with a real bang - Thandiwe Newton & Evan Rachel Wood are as gorgeous as ever, which is an added bonus!

Alan Bleasdale's 5 part series "Boys from the Blackstuff" - set in Liverpool in the early 80's, is being repeated on BBC Ch4 TV tonight at 9 pm.
One of the best series I've ever seen - well worth a watch.
i watched first episode but found it too close to home and depressing, but didnt want to watch any more. watched it first time round. giz a job. "the boys" however really entertained me. im a fan of anthony starr especially Banshee.

Ask one of your kids.

They'll have hacked into it years ago.
