I get annoyed when people think CTWD is purely an anti name change chant.

We've always sung it. Way before all these unfortunate events happened.

It is, but when sung at 19.04 minutes, it's an anti-name change chant.

For as long as I can recall, the team has been commonly known as either ‘City’ or ‘The Tigers’, decades ago they always even ran onto the pitch to ’The Tiger Rag’, so in reality the proposed name change is not really very radical. Others would like to keep the name unaltered but not at the risk of returning to the bad old days and the almost inevitable spiral back down into oblivion. Surely the time has come to give up all protests for good and get behind our club and team 100%.

We're already The Tigers, we were always The Tigers, no change required.

Everyone's 100% behind the team and it's up to the FA what we're called next season.

You could always write to Mr. Allam and tell him that as its not very radical it's not worth the change. Then there wouldn't be any protests and we can all go back to enjoying supporting our football team. See, it works both ways.

Err no it hasn't? There was nothing special about that song over any other until it emerged Allam was a **** and it's only since then that that song has become sung so passionately.

No one has a problem with being tigers. We are The Tigers, we get that. But it isn't our official name and never should be. There's absolutely no reason whatsoever to believe that it's an either-or choice between changing the name and the demise of the club. The name change is likely to do more harm than good if it happens. So no, surely the time hasn't come to give up on saving our club.

It was a poorly considered one based on no logical argument. It was rightly shot down.

Of course it is. Nonetheless, it deserves a question.

As my various posts on this matter clearly indicate, I am a "no change" advocate. Because I'm in Australia, I watch the games on tele. Unfortunately, the singing of "City "til I die" seems to be dropping off, judging by what I hear via the screen.
This would seem to indicate that perhaps people are becoming a little jaded and this might be more from the fear arising from Assem Allams bullying tactics/threat to leave the club. Whatever the reason, CTWD need to find a way to inject some new enthusiasm. I'm not being critical, if I think of something I'll post it.
Of - course the other factor in people not being as fired up as they once were is the simple fact of attrition and this is where Allam holds the aces and without a ballot he can simply claim to have won people over with his erudite argument, sparkling wit and winning personality.
Once again, good luck to all involved. My greatest hope is that the division that has been present is not added to by the "don't care" brigade being complete arses if the change occurrs. Allem won't be around forever. The challenge for the traditionalists is to keep the issue alive enough to force a change back when he's gone!

The CTWD chant does get widespread support. Television does not give a real indication of its volume as it totally depends on the set up.
On Saturday the away chants where as load at times.

What the CTWD chant does do is point to the history. There are problems with some who sit around me, the whole thing is still lost to them. For these consessionists the only thing that they are concerned about is their Saturday trip to the KC. It's like every other Wednesday there has to be the regular trip to B&Q because its discount day and they might miss out. A comment was made when I first moved seats to the West Stand Upper. "We don't like new people here!" No one chants, they clap with their gloves on. The biggest vocal is the "tut".

As for City Till We Die.........I used to sing City Till I Die.

STATEMENT/PRESS RELEASE FROM THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE HULL CITY OFFICIAL SUPPORTERS CLUB (HCOSC)

The HCOSC Board of Directors have now sent the Football Association (FA) its detailed submission on the Club’s request to change its playing name to Hull Tigers. This follows a poll of all of its members which produced an impressive 63% response. The headline result was 59.5% against & 40.5% in favour of the playing name change from Hull City AFC to Hull Tigers. To all those who took part, a very big thank you. The vote results have been circulated and should have been seen by all interested parties. The result of this vote will be part of our submission to the FA. Once again, the Board of Directors of the HCOSC have been heavily criticised by some people on social media sites for its continued stance on impartiality. We reiterate that we must respect and represent all our members different views whether they vote yes, no or have not taken part in the poll.

The submission also explains the role of the HCOSC, the recent history at the Club, it's relationship with the City Council as owners of the KC Stadium and details of a previous vote held in August/September last year. The submission also pays tribute to the Allam family for financing the Club which has helped enable a return to Premier League football in Hull. The HCOSC Directors believe the submission to be detailed and even-handed.

Three HCOSC Directors have been invited by the FA to a meeting at Wembley Stadium today (Monday 3rd February 2014) to consider the application from Hull City to change its playing name to Hull Tigers from the start of the 2014/15 season.

    Signed

    HCOSC Board of Directors
    3rd February 2014

I really do find their position strange, if you have a vote then whatever your members vote for on a majority decision, then that should be the stance of the organisation.

I have never heard of a union having a vote of its members to strike, and when the majority vote to strike, then saying well we can't recommend the strike because we have to honour the views of the members who voted no. They say the majority of our members voted to strike, so that is the stance of the Union

The stance of the OSC seems to more reflect the views of its board of directors.
