I don't think anyone is lying, but there has been quite a few posts that I have considered mis-leading, when I challenge them, its viewed as politics or **** stirring.
Chazz - I genuinely believe this is a general confusion and error caused by there being no truly accountable document - the minutes - as such an error would have been challenged and we would all have had that baseline to refer to. I cannot see the point in CTWD lying as they know their every act and statement will be scrutinised to the nth degree - unless you are suggesting they believe they have the same power as AA thinks he has and can lie with impunity and that makes no sense at all. I have no reason to disbelieve the outline reasons we have been given for not publishing, but, I do believe that can be overcome. PLT - it's makes a lot of difference; it is the difference between transparency and obscuration. I prefer transparency, as I believe it is a part of the strategy needed to overcome a liar and deceiver. You are generalising again and that achieves nothing useful. Edit: It would have been far better if someone from CTWD had reviewed what and when they made their statements about this ballot and put it right without this needless interrogation.
I think the polls are worthless. I think if people can't be arsed to pay 2 quid to join a campaign group that claims they believe as passionately as them about something, they don't actually exist except in PMTs head. 1800 is awful, by any measurement, especially as there's no way to tell if that's 1800 individuals with their own views. We already know the number of scarves etc sold was boosted by people ordering for friends and family. I realise its a bitter pill to swallow, but apathy does rule. Its more than the OSC? Oh whoop de doop. Its less than our away support too generally. As has been pointed out, the question would be the key, and the question would need to be based on facts. If it was along the lines of "Dr Allam can't afford to keep pumping money in but could get more investment via a name change, do you support him?" that would get a massive yes. If the question was simply "Which do you prefer, Hull City or Hull Tigers?" the response would be a massive "Hull City". Whatever question was asked, it would piss someone off, and in either event, even if all season ticket holders were invited to vote, the % of responses of the whole would be low, people sadly can't be arsed a lot of the time. If CTWD had a membership of 10k+ I'd take them more seriously, but, they don't, so I won't. I trust Dr Allam knows what he's doing, and I hope the FA listen and base their judgement on what they feel is best for our club. If thats an ok to the change, great, if its a rejection, then that's fine too.
Petition, Will get on this as soon as i can, Hit the local Pubs And then hit some stadiums in the local area
You keep asking me questions so here's some questions for you: Would you vote for Hull Tigers if the extra investment was £5 million? Would you vote for Hull Tigers if the extra investment was £10 million? Would you vote for Hull Tigers if the extra investment was £15 million?
Sorry, are you saying the people who voted in the polls don't exist except in my head? Everything I said before still stands: you can't charge people for having an opinion and to suggest that only those who have paid are anti name change is preposterous. The polls prove that the vast majority are against it, and part of the reason for that is undoubtedly that they realise it isn't likely to make any money, so the wording of the question is irrelevant. It's made even more so because we know Allam isn't prepared to present a business case or any other evidence to suggest it would make money, even if he did promise it.
http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/235671-It-has-concluded! Allam quoted giving his word that he won't change the name if no benefit is proven. He's a liar plain and simple.
If, as you say, the polls are worthless (I can only assume that you think that because folk can't be arsed to respond), then I would have thought the B-Side to that argument would be that attaining 1800 paying memberships, numerous donations and plenty of merchandise sales is very significant indeed. If the pro-changers or can't be arsed, can't be arsed to respond to various simple polls, then, if those who do care might be considered to be far more than 1800 - I appreciate this is not in line with your twisted logic, but we'll deal with that tomorrow. I have pushed the point about the minutes of the meeting and finally we have clarity; you should be pleased with that. Now we have another question outstanding; what is the size of the pro-name-change campaign group, which is led by someone who blatantly lies, does not accept that he does and makes no apologies after he insults folk? Tomorrow will do
Moving this debate to it's own thread was a great idea. I somehow found myself reading it though. Circles still.....
Like a circle in a spiral Like a wheel within a wheel Never ending or beginning On an ever spinning reel As the images unwind Like the circles That you find In the windmills of your mind !
AA said very clearly at the meeting that he would ballot all season ticket holders ahead of any name change. The club then requested that the season ticket holder ballott was one of things redacted from the minutes. It was then that we went public pushing for a ballott, as it was fairly obvious that AA was not going to go ahead with it. You are free to believe or dismiss this, but it will remain fact.
I thought the questions asked were straightforward and would only need a straightforward answer. You can always try again, or dare you not be honest?

Exactly PLT. His actions come across as devious: surreptitiously applying for the name change in a hush-hush manner, emitting hubris and bluster with a shake of the hand, dismissing the living-dead fanbase as unimportant, throwing out history with the bathwater.. Hey! defend the happy-clappies, it's OK cos he'll unveil a £11 m striker with his grin and and arm around Steve Bruce in a week or two.. thus 'proving' his promises are made of gold.. whilst millions of petrol-dollars and rupees and yens will be choking up the Tigers Superstore cash registers emanating from a row of obscure eastern investors, keen to market the famous club from overseas.. dream, dream, dream sang Phil Everly he died when he wanted didn't he?
POSTCARDS FOR THE FA - NOW IN PRODUCTION As crunch time nears for a decision on the name of Hull City, we're doing everything we can to convince the FA Council to do the right thing. One part of our multi-pronged strategy is something we’ve been discussing ever since the campaign began – encouraging City supporters who want to keep our historic name to send postcards to the FA. We’ve created a bold, eye-catching “SAY NO TO HULL TIGERS” design, and are having 10,000 postcards printed. They’re addressed to FA HQ, and there’s room to put your name and address, and some comments on why you think our name matters. Once you've filled in the details all you'll have to do is stick a stamp on and pop it in a post-box. We’ll be giving them away around the KC; the first batch will be handed out before the home game against Chelsea on 11 January. We’re also discussing a few other ways of distributing them (for one thing, we know there will be exiles who might want some), so watch this space – we’ll give you more details once we have the postcards in our hands. please log in to view this image
PLT As someone who stands in the east stand I can assure you that not everyone by a bloody long way sings CTWD. E1 E2 E3 YES With just pockets here and there in the rest of the East stand. A lot v Liverpool when we went in front. But far from the majority join in. Yes I join in......then it's NOT a protest song and never was.
