But you weren't questioning my criticism though you were being massively patronising/sarcastic, when in actual fact I was raising relevant points.

Sometimes sarcasm is just a vehicle to emphasise a point. I have made the same point time and time again this week. Not the best team selection coupled with **** performances. Your post seems to lay most if not all the blame with MP. I disagreed with sarcasm.
Given the available players, he took the spine out of the team, and then some of you cover up why the team played without a spine.. ITS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE.. Wrong team, **** display.. Don't do it again..

I'm glad you feel the need to stick up for the managers team selection, I really am. I now know to take your posts in match threads with a pinch of salt, as you'll just be pleased about absolutely everything. See, I can make generalisations and be patronising as well.
I didn't find your post patronising at all. I just have posted my opinion. You took it the way you took it.
Now if you read my posts you'd see that I thought the team section wasn't the best, but that wasn't the total reason for the performance.
Pochettino was at fault because he selected the team? so it doesn't matter if the team played like ****? It doesn't matter these players should be up for a cup game. It's all Pochettino's as he decided to rest a few players. It doesn't matter if Lallana, Lambert missed good chances and the team played like crap as Pochettino decided to play Hooiveld.

Fair play to Pochettino for coming out and defending himself and the team against some over the top criticism.
Yes it was a disappointing and limp exit from the cup, but it was a lack of quality over a lack of effort which lost us the game and that lack of quality was evident in parts against Stoke & Hull where we struggled to break those teams down barring set pieces and upfront the only change on Saturday was Guly for a largely sub par Rodriguez.
Probably the biggest selection mistake was sacrificing both Morgan & Jack. JWP didn't have a great game and we didn't control possession as we usually would.
Pochettino has been widely praised for not being afraid to play young English players and yet the hand which pats him on the back is now carrying a stick to beat him with.
Yes he got it wrong, we all know it(including himself), but he is fighting his corner and passionately backing his squad and I was encouraged by him saying that he hopes to get the squad stronger to go for silverware next season.

I don't see it that way. He wasn't bravely giving a chance to young English players, and he's trying to pull a bit of a fast one by conflating the two issues. JWP aside, with Cork and Rodriguez dropped the team had fewer young English players than usual.
The point that Mauricio made that wasn't in the article was that he was saddened that fans disrespected the players not usually in our side. He said they are all part of our squad, so he was upset that fans acted as if they were no hopers. I think he picked a side that he considered were good enough to win the game (remember Sunderland's league position and Poyet's stated intention to change their side), the team played badly and didn't take their chances, and he and the team were disappointed. It's as simple as that (according to a famous guru).
Boruc never even travelled, so I bet he was unwell/injured...otherwise I'm sure he would have been taken in case Davis was injured/sent off. Why question his statement that JRod was less than 100%...it happens...not suggesting that it was the case, but airsickness can make you feel awful for a day or two. I think a few people think that just because they could get up after a rough night and run round a public football ground with their mates, so should a professional footballer. These people are monitored closely and no risks are taken. Would JRod have played if it was the last game of the season and we needed to avoid relegation or get a CL spot...possibly...would he play in this game when another player was fit...probably not.

She is wrong though. Pochettino didn't mention fans' reaction, only media's, and Boruc has been left out of every cup squad, was he injured all those other times too?

Yeah, about JWP...I'm not really sure what's his role in the team formation. He is supposed to be a central midfielder, but it seems he plays more as a right back. So i searched for his heat map in the last match:

It sure doesn't look like a central midfielder's movement. I understand the idea of covering for Clyne, but it can be the only reason why JWP's on the pitch. It' s a useful role, but a bit of a luxury.
Maybe Pochettno thinks he's not ready yet to play a difficult role in the midfield, so he found a new way to give him some game time.
If you did a similar map for Steven Davis, what would that show I wonder? Because he often seems to drop in to cover the right back.
