Rather than continue a debate that should really have run its course by now, I actually posted this for a reason which I brilliantly forgot to include in the OP.

If MP's future is in doubt (pure speculation) and if it's in the balance (again pure speculation) then getting unwarranted (in his opinion and mine but not shared by all) grief from the fans may not be the most helpful thing in the world. His comments are proper fighting talk....

MP's selection of players was baffling. Yeah, both him and Perez said they played the strongest possible team, and although we don't know for sure what's happening in the background, it's highly unlikley it really was the strongest team available.

That being said, I think the selected players should've played much better and should take their proportion of blame.

I find Boruc and Rodriguez's "illness" extremely suspicious.

Yes Pochettino didn't score from 2yds did he? Pochettino was playing and played like crap didn't he?

You mean like this, 1 minute in...

Did you see Pochettino's face? Looked like he didn't give a flying **** about the game.

'Looked' is different then saying he was. He could have just been pissed off with the **** he saw.

The end of the day, the manager can only do so much. Once the players step on the pitch it is up to them to perform. Yes the manager can shout stuff etc, but it's the players that are out there playing.

No, but lambert was knackered and pochettino didn't take Gallagher.
Lallana was our best player and he took him off.
Cork and Morgan our two best midfielders both rested
Davis was in goal

We lost the game because our midfield lost the battle. Wanyama is obviously rusty, and shouldn't have been expected to carry the midfield on his own.

Airsickness maybe? The flight up the evening before was a bit lumpy judging by the route and height the aircraft took, the pilot went abnormally high to avoid the weather, it may have caused a few problems? Just a thought.

Lambert gets a excuse then? Some people will do anything to blame the manager.

And you are looking to place the blame 100% at the players. Both the players and Pochettino are at fault for what happened. Pochettino disturbed a team that was playing well for no reason as far as I'm concerned.

Did you see Pochettino's face? Looked like he didn't give a flying f**k about the game.

I was unaware that it was Pochettino's face that won and lost us games. I shall make sure I pay more attention to that than what's happening on the pitch in future......

<laugh> Here's Poch's other Argentina 1 yard screamer, honestly this is worse than Maradona. 7.30 in

I take it that those that are making the most fuss were all present for the Burnley game, only 15,077 thought it was important enough to turn up for that game, I was there and it was a bit tepid at times.

Unlikely.

Re: Pochettino-- I'm not entirely buying the Rodriguez/Boruc illnesses. Even if I did, the team did not play very well and the manager has to accept some responsibility for that. That is part of his job.

That said, I see no reason to get angry with MP. Or the players for that matter. While they did screw up badly, it happens. That game shouldn't define Pochettino or any of the players who participated.

Wow. People so angry about one match. Let's sack him. What a bastard. And he's foreign. How dare he make fewer changes than Sunderland and think he might win? What an absolute twat.

Nobody is denying that Poch should shoulder some of the blame here, but what is being said is that it's about (at worst) 50/50. As ISIRTP says, it happens. It was a bad day at the office all round. Poch's face didn't lose it, neither did Wanyama, or JWP, or Rickie. Or even Barry Sanchez.

Move. On. Please.
