The Telegraph have said that Chelsea have accepted an offer from 37 million pounds from us, he'll have a medical tomorrow.

We dont just have £40million though.

And spending it on the best player of his type in the league? Hardly mental is it.

Not mental, no, though I'd dispute he's the best of his type, depending what you consider his type (Silva, Ozil, Hazard if he counts). If Kagawa and Rooney go then it's a great signing. Neither Kagawa nor Mata are great wingers and both need to play in 4-5-1 which I'd be surprised to see Moyes do, especially with a reasonably old first choice striker.

He was pretty great on the wing for Valencia. Before he ever played as a number 10 he was a very very good winger. Scored and created plenty. 2nd most assists in La liga all from the wing.

I'd say hes better than both Silva and Ozil. Hazard is just a silly comparison.

The Spanish management team would disagree with you there!!

If they can keep Rooney and get RvP fit, I think they should play a 433; Mata and Rooney either side of RvP and give them both a license to roam. Just need better CMs to do it. Moyes won't do it though.

Silva and Ozil are next level compared to Mata. I'm sure before the Mata rumours came to light everyone one on this board would have agreed!!

sit on the bench for club and country?

I dont watch international football but a quick search shows that since 2009 hes played 32 times for Spain.

Silva has played 77 times since 2006.

I guess Silva is Spains number 1, but they clearly rotate, or fit him in quite often.
