To be fair that source Matth just posted is very very reliable. Looks like it's going through.
I can't believe it, i'm shocked.
Same here. You could have bought Suarez's left toe for that.

Mata will improve us.
Mata will improve us.
for a player proven in EPL .. no.. it is not40 million = desperate

Mata will improve us.
ATM, Charlie Adam would improve you!

Mata will improve us.
He will improve you, he would improve every squad in the PL. But the point is you're strengthening the wrong position, you need a box to box midfielder that's got creativity, and/or a world class defender.
Just highlight's once again Moyes's lack of ability to manage a top club.
First off, if a club is letting a player of Mata's ability go, regardless of what position, you bite their hand off. Mata has been one of the best if not the best player since he made the move to Chelsea. Secondly, I fear we're preparing for life after Rooney.
They'll have been given first option, doesn't necessarily mean we have to sell or he has to leave.
It looks like he will, which I just find so bizarre. The choices seem to be to break all of United's goal scoring records over the next four or so years and become a genuine bona fide legend of the club having also won everything there is to win.
Or join Chelsea.
Can't get my head round it at all.

Can't help but feel £40m could be better spent elsewhere. Great player, of course, but he's not a winger so unless the plan in future is to strictly play 1 up top with Mata behind he'll be wasted IMO.
