Really sad for him, but definitely the right decision. Life is too precious to take what would have been a crazy risk.
 
Best wishes to him and his family moving forward, I don't have anything but positivity for the man.


I imagine he'll be given plenty of opportunities to continue being involved in football. Wouldn't surprise me if Spurs gave him a youth coaching role or something. Based on how he speaks I think he would make an alright pundit too.

That's definitely **** news. Still annoys me that a foul wasn't even given against the Arsenal player. Not Mason's fault at all but this turned out our worst transfer ever. If we ever do get a big transfer purchase again I hope we get better luck than we've had the last few years from Bullard onwards.
 
I agree with everything that's been said so far - really bad luck all round but Ryan Mason's future health is the most important consideration and I'm sure he's made the right decision. Let's hope he can go on to enjoy a long, happy and healthy career close to the game he's served so well.
 
Strange that, I was going to post today that we hadn't heard anything about Ryan which was worrying. Then to see this terrible news, the lad must be gutted, but as other have said obviously the right decision. Wish him all the best for the future, and hope he can carve out a good career for himself.

Very sad news.

Even though it's been half expected for a long time, it was still a big shock to read.

Obviously it isn't the main thing, but what effect will this have on City financially?
