Not fussed he's gone, he was a good squad player who when we were low in moral looked like the gave a ****, and ill thank him for the shift he put in. But what pisses me off is that we got NOTHING in terms of compensation for him, or a fee. Sucks
Twat.OK, just got to take it easy for a while. Got my first ever sick note till the end of July.
Don't think I'll be off that long though, I'm bored already.

]We need to get used to player power if an average lad like Jack can run his contract out.
What could the club do?[/B]
If we couldn't get him to move, at the end of last season, when he didn't sign a new contract we'd have paid him a season's money for nowt.
If we'd not played him, and stuck him in the reserves, then gone down that could've cost us a fortune.
He cost nowt, we've paid him an average wage and now he's gone.
Hopefully we can sign someone who'll actually score more than once a season and set up some goals.
Make a stand and start with Connor, if he hasn't signed by the start of pre season put him up for sale, no ****ing about, no waiting to see if he'll sign in Jan, just sell him, then behave that way with all players going into the last year like clubs who are well run do.
It's not, it's just cooled while Marseille are sniffing. Benega will be sold this window and Marseille are yet to bid. Still twist and turns on that one.
I'm following the Spanish media like a hawk.![]()

Absolutely this - there is no point messing about with contracts. If a player wants to sign for the club then he signs his contract. He's openly stated that he wants to be our number one next season - if he wants that then he signs a new contract
Shame about JC. Hard grafter who could possibly do better than them up the road. Still, now he's a mag he is naturally a complete kernt, pour moi.

Exactly, I've nowt against them trying for a better deal, but we as a club need to make sure that the deadline for the final offer come with adequate time to sell and find a replacement.
It won't always work, a player can still choose to run his contract down but that's where we need to be clever with the wages we offered for their original contract.
I think that's why the "sign or reserves" rule would be good - if a player is, for arguments sake, on 25k a week and coming to the last year of his contract, offer him a new deal (if he's earned it) on higher wages. If it's a sensible deal (say 30-35k) and he turns it down at negotiations, don't give him a squad number and put him in the reserves. Who is going to pay 25k for a reserve? Even tell the player "We are willing to sell you at the end of the season" as this gives a ROI
He's a step up from Gosling, but no Cabaye replacement. No one in the black and white camp excited by his signing. He'll be a squad player, no more.
