Since she's past a drugs test, it's quite conclusive the American bloke was talking out of his arse. Although, they've disowned him from their team, which is good.

The people who make the drugs are always one step ahead of the testers unfortunately!

True. It's like 'Virus/Anti-Virus' on the PC. Can't have a virus-killer until the virus is identified. Same with drugs.
Still - they do keep samples for something like 8 years, so can always go back and test them again....
Did anyone see a programme a few weeks back about the Ben Johnson 100 metre final. Think of the 8 finalists 6 have been implicated or banned for doping.
Even Carl Lewis has some scandal about him. Apparently they still have the samples but there's no political will to re examine them with modern techniques.
The only one who came across well was the Brazilian kid.
Apparently she is a bit of a freak of nature and has absolutely enormous feet and a leg to torso ratio that gives her a perfect physique for swimming.
Maybe she's just born to swim.
With a popultation of 1.2 billion people, I suppose the odds are in favour of at least 1 person being born with those attributes.

When the Olympics were held in Australia 26 American competitors had drug infringements before the games but this was wiped under the carpet by the American officials .
It was an interesting program. One of the testers interviewed had kept samples from the 1984 olympics. When he went back to test these samples he was getting so many positive results he just stopped and though some things are best left in the past. There must be many sporting hero's that were doppers. Sport seems to be a lot cleaner now than its ever been.
Just on the Chinese swimmer. She's 16 and it's not uncommon to make big improvements on PB's at that age.

The Chinese lass is a victim of her own countries history re cheating which is possibly ongoing. I think the American guy was justified to speak out because of this. He might have paid a price for that but time will tell on the issue. The girl herself might be entirely unaware of anything untoward happening which is why some people are upset and also her age. Sad state of affairs.
