Have I come onto the Bristol fall out board by accident? Back to the topic, Lambert was an OK Div 1 plodder who scored goals. He is now one of the best strikers in the championship who has developed his all round play. Thanks to Pardew and Adkins he is now hot property and we are delighted (sorry, "made up") he has signed up to stay. I know nowt about other team's players as I don't see them often enough, but let's see come Saturday. I'd never bet against Rickie.
Rickie has always had the quality. What I have seen from him for Southamton is no different to what we had a Rovers. The difference is that he now has quality around him.
Rickie has got a lot better since he joined Saints. You are spouting b****cks. If he was at the same standard now from when he joined Saints from Rovers he would not have scored from open play in the Championship.
Probably true to an extent. The weight loss has certainly helped but the quality of players around him certainly has too. Doesn't help when you're one step ahead of your team mates and they don't give you the same quality of supply.
Lambert is a prime example of a player getting better by leaving a comfortable home for a superior club......
It aint bollocks. Rickie was brilliant with the gas, he did score against Championship opposition when he played for us, and he played well against Premier league opposition when he played for the gas. Stop being a **** making out you have made him a better player, when in fact you haven't. As I said, better quality around him has helped him become a better player, nothing else.
Half the season Lambert plays on the billiard table that is St Mary's, so how can a slow pitch suit him best??
Oh dear - I appear to have been misunderstood. The thread was intended probably to get the Saints fans and the Gasheads to join up and dis NM, whilst giving some credit to Rovers for 'training him up'. I was however, attempting to answer the question in a sensible way. I personally like both players very much and for me its difficult to choose between them - ideally I would play them both every game whatever the weather, pitch or opposition. However, that wasn't an option offered in this thread, so I had to choose when one was clearly better than the other, and so I did. When strength and presence and deadball skills are needed, RL would be my first choice every time. Where a bit more deftness and pace are needed it would be Maynard. There was no disrespect intended to either player - and the reason NM hasn't scored as many as RL so far is because our season only started a few weeks ago!

You clearly have no idea that we have just changed managers - of course there is no reason why you should. We have taken 10 points out of a possible 12 in our last 4 games - and we have very high morale despite our league position! Let's hope your management is just as ignorant - then we'll give your boys a bit of a wake-up call! You never know - perhaps they think we're so cr@p they will give RL a rest and play your reserve team against us!
