But we still low ball offers just like we always did before Rafa came??
Wrong. This is a direct quote from Rafa in May:
“I could go away and make some money. If you go to China you can make a lot of money.
‘The priority for me was to stay. I decided to stay because of the fans, the club, the possibilities for the future and to stay in England close to my family.
‘Then the meeting was crucial to convince me to stay. Mike told me “We have this money, it is available, it’s OK”, so, fine, we were happy with that.’
“In January we didn’t sign players but we had £30m ready for the future, so now we are in a situation where we are going slowly but I still have confidence that everything will be fine after my meeting with Mike.
“He said that he would give us every last penny so hopefully he will do it and I’m confident that he will.
“I still have confidence that he will keep his word. We have the resources to do what we wanted and now we have to do it.
“I asked if I can spend all the money on one player or if I must spend it on many players.
“Mike said the budget is mine and I can do what I want with the numbers he has given me. It is the same with wages.
“We still have time to buy players until the end of next month and I am confident we will.”
He knows his budget. Unless you are saying Rafa is a liar?
Rafa's transfer record is patchy. He has of course signed some gems in the past, but some of his signings have been dog ****. The more i see of this Jorgenson, the more i hope it falls through.
Give ****ing Mitrovic a chance or buy someone like Dembele. If we spend 20 mill and this guy turns out to be duff then Ashley is going to think twice sbout spending money in the future.
Look if you not going to play the game and get dragged into some tedious never ending debate about Rafa/Ashley, by getting riled up at the suggestion that maybe Ashley isn't a ****, and Rafa isn't a god, then please refrain from responding. You're disturbing my angling.
Comes on a Newcastle forum, talks about Newcastle, receives a reply about Newcastle= gone fishing.Look Fredor. You ain’t fooling nobody cobber.
I was just going to ask if his IP address had been checked to see if he's posting from Australia.Look Fredor. You ain’t fooling nobody cobber.
Fredor?
I was just going to ask if his IP address had been checked to see if he's posting from Australia.
I think it's not that Pouchy is Fredor. It's more that Fredor is Pouchy. Guilty as charged. Case closed. Ban the ****.He’s using hide my ass, the IP hider.

He'll only try to buy everyone off with his imaginary free tickets to his imaginary corporate box at St James' Park.Shall we do a poll?![]()
I ****ing hate the ****s who own and run our club wish they'd **** right off.Again I hark back to the skeleton crew Ashley goes with. He "saves" money in all the wrong places. Scouts, back office, negotiators, financiers, all of them are absolute peanuts in the football world. I get we can't compete with this **** owning the club, and I understand the need to buy cheap and sell high. Spurs, Southampton, Everton and more have achieved relative success and stability doing exactly that. But how the **** are we supposed to find players when a) the youth/training set up is ****, and b) we only have one exec at the club?? It's utter nonsense. As Keegan said, it's not the man himself so much as the people he's surrounded by. What the **** does Keith Bishop or Justin Barnes know about football? Yet these are the only people he'll listen to. Charnley simply pushes paper around - not even sure the bloke's got a tongue. Think he lost it up Ashley's arse a long time ago.
Our CEO is the cheapest in the PL, probably somewhere near Burton Albion's CEO in earnings. But it's ill advised, once again. If he's dead set on having a football club that only sells what it generates, and dead set against coughing up for the advertising space, his only choice would be a decent scouting/youth set up. Both have predictably stagnated on his watch, with refusal to spend a paltry £1.5m revamping the training centre, then he wonders why we can't get players in? He effectively sends a reclusive hermit out to negotiate, then wonders why we don't get good deals. Carr had one remit - find players with crap contracts. Once they disappeared, all Carr could do was say "that Aubameyang's good", at which point Ashley's mob would rock up with a four pack of Stella, ask what they want and offer 60% of that value. Every time. He expects the world to sell at 40% discount.
The Lejeune fiasco was the last straw for me. We "haggled" and "bartered" for a player with a £8.6m release clause. Two and a half ****ing months later, we just paid £8.6m and got him. The completely unnecessary attempt to save a few quid was pathetic. What are we even saving these pennies for? In case they're unaware, it's raining fcking hard on NUFC so now's the time to spend everything we possibly can.
It's long overdue.I ****ing hate the ****s who own and run our club wish they'd **** right off.
This sort of actually makes a little sense. However the infrastructure of top level people at the club I believe hampers the negotiations etc. The scouting network and staff are poor. The lack of communication is awful. We try to milk transfer sales for top dollar and do the complete opposite with signings. Not a bad thing if it works but what happens is we generally end up missing out on our targets. This isn't some cloak and dagger scenario. Rafa seems to suggest Mike is very straight with him about money. He doesn't interfere how he spends it. He simply says that is the budget, you can't have any more than that as I'd have to put my hand in my pocket. Rafa said he was happy with the budget.
There was a delay when the club was about to be sold. I personally wouldn't spend a penny either if I was selling a football club and thought a deal might be done. I'd also pull the plug if I thought they were endangering the clubs long term health by trying to get a cheap deal.
You know the more I read and the more I see, I think Ashley is pretty sound.

We try to save a million here or there and make an extra million here or there without looking at the bigger picture. Saving a couple of million at the expense of being relegated is just utter nonsense.
The simple fact is it is 27 January and we have not bought or sold a single player. NOT ONE. Even player sales seem to drag out. Why is Mitro saivet and colback still at the club?
Unfortunately I do think it’s a lack of quality on Charnleys side. He could employ the right people to help him but I think he would feel threaten by people who actually know what they are doing.
And honestly some of our signings over the last 2-3 years have been absolutely crap. Gamez Lazaar Hanley Diame Saivet Doumbia (loan) Sels Manquilo Joselu rivière de jong thauvin cabella. None of who are premiership quality. All of which where a complete waste of money.
