Transfer Rumours Jorgensen

No Jorgensen? Might be a bullet dodged but I would have trusted Rafa's judgement on his suitability over any of ours. At least Jonjomort will be happy.

According to Caulkin NUFC are going to consider other targets. On the 28th January. Honestly - it took them a full week mull it over and add £1m to the initial offer for Jorgensen.

Caulkin is pretty much the only ITK there is.

I don't necessarily think it's worth reading too much into it. He's not a £20m striker, though better than what we have. I think we tried to keep it very quiet, like a Cabaye or Wijnaldum type deal, failed and the press coverage escalated the price.

The problem we have is the world has clearly moved on. As Klopp said, he doesn't necessarily think Van Dijk is a £75m player, but that's not how it works. You say "I need the best type of player we can get", the numbers attached are now largely irrelevant. Charnlley still works with "value for money" in mind, when it's neither his money nor how it works anymore. Sadly, he's just not up to it, and that's being kind.

Feels like it. And Charnley will shrink back into his hovel not accountable in the slightest.

Charnley couldn't close a door. I don't care if Jorgensen isn't worth 20 million - It's the going rate and we are a newly promoted club. If Feyenoord want 20 mill then you give them it unless you have someone better lined up.

We obviously don’t get to see the full picture but it comes across as though we had put all our eggs in this one basket. Ridiculous if true as it weakened our negotiation stance and also leaves us with our pants firmly round our ankles when we don’t get our own way, like now.

It’s all a play by the fat man and Penfold to make it look as though we are serious about a signing.

Rafa has just upped the stakes by apparently hinting he would consider extending his contract IF the club backed him in this window....

Rafa was given quite a few cards by tge takeover bid, because for whatever reason it seems most parties value the club more with him in charge. However, Ashley slamming the only legitimate bid publicly probably pinched all those cards back.

Why is anyone surprised? It was, as usual, preordained. We will go through the motions but that is all. ****

Penfold deserves stick as did Pardew for being prepared to be the fall guy/mouthpiece. Difference with Penfold is that he doesn’t gush nonsense to the Media unlike Pardew who was an expert on it.

Such as when, Pouchy?

He keeps saying Mike and Charnley are doing all they can doesn't he? He keeps telling us how difficult the PL market is now? He keeps telling us transfers might not happen but he is hopeful? Its like a carbon copy of Pardew. Different rules applied by the fickle fans though. All because Rafa didn't try and headbutt a mackem.

1. Not sure he does.
2. He does but that’s probably true anyway but he’s not saying it’s imposible.
3. Not sure he does.

:)

1. He does. You can go back as far as 2016 about his good relationship with Lee. Or his recent interview where he said he gives the list and the Lee does his best.
2. Correct
3. He does. He even thinks the transfer window should be reduced to 15 days because he doesn't like it. He has been speaking FIFA about it. He said he has to remain positive but its difficult. He spoke about how its even more difficult for them.

Just bite the bullet on this one. Don't make me drag out the articles, I know you've seen them  Direct quotes not RobEllious and IamGroot hearsay.
