LOL. That was a riot? Invading a football field when the only england supporters in the ground were the english players & staff? Only casualties were the goalposts & a wee bit of grass. Rod Stewart & Gordon Strachan were on the pitch with them, btw. So riot, no. Celebration, yes. This is the first article Google brought up for me, Enjoyed watching the highlight vid, but not the dodgy penalty you were awarded at the end, or the nailed on penalty the ref denied us at the start. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...h-snapped-crossbar-stunning-England-1977.html Probably wouldn't have got as much coverage if we'd been breaking english necks. But, as mentioned before, no english fans could be found.
So when thousands of drunk Scottish scum smash things up its not a riot, 2 English have a fight, it is, got it Arsene
"Smash things up"? Bit dramatic, isn't it? 1 crossbar & a wee bit of grass. Almost as accurate as the english press declaring that england will win whatever tournament they are in. Got it wrong every time since 1966, & even then, they guessed wrong!
Can you post one link where the press have said we will win any tournament, I recon its a WJ dream, but they are a lot closer than Scotland who never get past the filling the entry forms in
As I said, let's see who backs you up. I doubt anyone who's read a newspaper leading up to a tournament will back you up.
Seen plenty of papers say England can or might, never seen one that said we will, but they have won once, and made last four many a time, where as scotland, have always been ****.
Euro 96 was the last time I can recall any real press positivity towards England's chances, even when the hoardes were getting excited under Sven, the rags were stating we'd win nowt with Gerrard ans Lampard in the same team.
Correct, the Jocks make the story up,and pretend we said it, with not going any finals, they have nothing better to do. Losers
