By my reckoning we should need a goalkeeper, left back, centre mid, two strikers, and an attacking midfielder. The improvements in these areas would probably see us top 10.

We know that isn't happening.

To comfortably-ish stay up, we need a goalie and two strikers.

Not happening.

For a fighting chance of scrapping our ways above the line we need one strong, pacey striker with composure.

Do I even need to tell you the craic?

We're going to watch every club around us bring in 1-3 players, as a risk spreading investment, while we do nothing.

You have to give a hand to Rafa for sticking it out under these conditions, because if he keeps us up, it's probably a normal club's equivalent of winning the quadruple. Twice in a row.

Now all you have to do is say that in words even Pouchy would understand.

We are reportedly interested in Junior Stanislas<laugh> if there is an ounce of truth in it(which I doubt) then we are rightly ****ed!

Loaning reserve players from your relegation rivals = you’re ****ed!!

What's this about a mystery striker bid that's in discussion which will break our transfer record? Read an article naming a few options, Vincent Aboubakar, Willian Jose and Moussa Dembele stand out. Anyone got any suggestions?

Any of the above will do for me, or Dembele's team mate Leigh Griffiths would do a better job that Dwight or Joselu. Sturridge apparently stuck between bench for Liverpool or going on loan to Inter, maybe we could jump in with an offer?

From what the Chron claim, we're supposed to be further down the road than just interrupting someone's deal.

Willian Jose would be interesting. I've watched him and Sergio Canales a fair bit recently for Sociedad. Both look really good. Canales would be a cracking no.10 but his injuries make him too much of a risk. Willian Jose on the other hand has looked really good and has no such issues. Big money though, you're talking 20m plus I would think.

Moussa Dembele also a cracking player.

I'm just not convinced either of the above could be convinced Newcastle is the place for them. They would have better options you'd think.

I wish I were able to be offended by that

Ohhhhhh also looks like Kenedy deal is closing in. For all those naysayers he is the type of player to get you out your seat, HBA mk2, followed him since his Fluminese days and I'll be very surprised if he doesn't become a regular for Brazil in the next 10 years. Back the lad in the terraces and he'll produce on the pitch!

Shame we can't sign him permanently. His skill is off the scale.

Sadly it will be someone like Troy Deeney
