34 and plays for Burnley apparently thought he was at Stoke. 34 ain't too bad and he was never quick so as long as he hasn't shrunk or gone blind I think he could do a job for us. Good attitude on him too.
Must admit I thought he was at Stoke but thought he was nearer 38 or 39 now. Better than Vaughan without doubt.
Looks like Walters could sign sooner rather than later. My mates just bumped into him at Wolviston services.
My mates a boro fan by the way and he didnt even know we were linked with him until after hed told me hed just seen him.
When you think what a knacker like Daryl Murphy can do in the championship Walters should be pretty good.
Walters would be superb, he’s a bully and a very underrated player. He’d be quality in this league I reckon.
Walters would be a decent signing for Newcastle never mind us at the moment. I'd be very pleased with losing Grabban and signing Walters. He might not get the same amount of goals himself but he brings other into play which makes us much more of a threat.
Same as we needed the money for Djib, Lens, Khazri and Borini. Clubs are taking the pish out of us cause they know how skint and desperate we are.
Who's to say we'd get the transfer money though? We haven't in the last few windows. It's gone to pay debt off.
Aye I know but he's still a saleable asset and it'd be perfectly reasonable for us to say we want a fee for him. They can take the piss but we don't have to accept it. Who knows, yes it probably would but at least that'd be more of the debt paid off. It's possible Coleman might get a few scraps, think he said he wouldn't get anything like the full amount to reinvest but he expects to get something.
The lad needs all the help and every penny that he can get. But as you say, it would be more debt paid off which could help bring the sale of the club that much closer. So still a plus to that extent!
No plus at all for me that one. Sale of the club wouldn’t happen on the next 20 days. Which means that we still won’t see the money to spend. Coleman im sure said he’d have funds he could raise. Although the chairman has lied to gaffers in the past!!
I know we're in a dodgy place generally but we'd be mugs if we let players go on loan who would command a solid fee. If anything being in our position means it's more important than ever that we get money for our players who are actually worth some. I'd tell them to come back with a cash offer or don't come back at all. He's our player and if we don't sell him even if he does sulk a bit he'll still be useful.
I think Coleman said he would get some but not all of any sales achieved. I cant see a 1 or 2 million making a great deal of difference to be honest mate. Anything that helps Short sell the club is fine by me.
