I’d definitely have Jacob ahead of Giles, there’s absolutely no way we should be spending 4.5m on him.
It would feel very unnecessary given he’s essentially a left winger at left back. Only good going forward and even then we don’t do it in the way that gets the best out of him so for me no point

Erm I’m not sure your point? We own Coyle and Slater, we don’t own Giles and he’s done nothing to warrant £4m being spent on him
My point being we think Jacob is fine so we don't need to spend money. I think that would be a mistake.
Question for me is whether Giles is value at 4m, not whether we need another left back or not.
I don’t think we don’t need another left back, it just shouldn’t be Giles.
You've still yet to name a single left back we could sign for less who would be good enough.

If Furlong isn't going to be good enough to be back up come next season then we should never have signed him and should let him go. He's not a young kid.

We should spend money on a left-back, just not Giles.
