It’s all up for debate of course and you make some compelling arguments however 1. I wonder how their minutes compare since Carvallo made his first start 2. Tufans pressing has been exceptional when he played lately as has been his work rate 3. I also wonder how their Motm on this forum points compare. 4. Tufan has the ability to unlock defenses with his first time passing ability. Not seem that from Carvallo yet. It would be great if you or someone could fill in the blanks on item 1 and 3. Regardless LR thinks he is better than Tufan and that’s all that matters after all.
By the way I am a big fan of Omur as well.

Certainly if you were going by MOTM posts on this forum Tufan would win, though to be fair I think we could have prime Messi in our team and he still wouldn't get as many MOTM votes as Tufan does.

Tufan always had the technical ability, and now he's acquired an engine too.

If he can put the 2 together in his 3rd full English season then we could have a serious player on our hands.

Could easily match Oscar's tally this season. So he ain't been poor at all.

If you think it's a new thing or unique to us that released academy players and their families would have complaints about the people who released them then I think that's pretty naive.

You're right I am uninformed, so I'm not saying what has or hasn't happened, but I think it's clear that we're hearing one very emotive side of a story and it's pretty likely that the other side would give a different view on it.

The complaints from ex-players and their parents about Sellars concerns me less than what his colleagues in the same academy think of him.

He’s too lightweight for that league....... oh, and he’s not very good. Can’t see him playing for us again
V much inclined to agree, hadn't been impressed with any of his cameo's this season, v lightweight and relatively slow. I did think a step down in league would help home out tho

Of course its a very diifficult ? to answer since i have neither the time or the videos to find that out. Last time he played cant remember what game think it was the game he was taken off and many on here commented they were surprised since they felt he was one of the better players; I did remark I think on the MOTM board that he Tufan that is was not on form with that aspect of his game and although he tried a couple he failed to comlete the pass.
This season, key passes per 90 - Carvalho 2.1 (more than any other City player), Tufan 0.9 (9th best).

I mentioned it last season before McAuley Snelgrove was released (before it was announced and he was at Spennymoor at the time), but Sellars isn't well liked by the youth players. If anybody on here knows Olly Green, ask him.

The whole ER Senior Cup debacle against Hedon or Hornsea or whoever it was against didn't do him any favours either. Last season he used a lot of players out of position, this season doesn't seem to be going much better. I think Tan needs to take a serious look at it because if we're serious about being a top flight club, one of the most important things is our academy. Richard Naylor has done a fantastic job as head of youth development, just seems a shame that the manager of the youth team is a ballbag.

In other news, I wonder if we'll see more youngsters go to York City, David Stockdale is the head of recruitment there (and back up keeper).

Last season they made the national playoff final to be fair. It's this season that the results have gone off a cliff.

Yep, and most of them were released, either by choice or were not deemed good enough. They've put a lot of faith in the current crop, but they're very young and lack experience of men's football.

Last season was more down to off field problems, rather than on them, this season I think it's the formation. They play the same way as the first team do, but obviously they're nowhere near good enough to do so.

Same reason the 18s who’ve done pretty well on the whole, have often been on the end of a thumping

Gateshead play the way our first team do.

They find a way to do it at that level.

If they can't, then surely there'll be other opportunities for the better players who don't fit, likes of Donaldson, Townsend for example.

Isn't it just natural churn?

I get the same info that Sellars is not liked, I agree this needs to be sorted as the previous 2 leaders Pennock and Beale did an excellent job and were well liked.

Youth teams should play the same way as the senior team imo, it’s all about making the step up as seamless as possible
