Everyone seems to acknowledge Allsop is good with his feet, but I don't think people appreciate just how good he is. He quite routinely puts Connolly through on goal with one pass and he probably should've had a few assists at this point. Off the top of my head there was one against Birmingham, one in the first few minutes against Cardiff where he rounded the keeper but a defender blocked the shot, and the one that led to Gunn wiping him out on Friday. Our build up probably plays a part in creating that space before Allsop plays the pass, but make no mistake that his long passes are a serious weapon for us, and if Pandur is going to oust him he'll need to be similarly good.

He is good with his feet, no doubting that, but it's absolutely pointless when he's as poor as he is at the goalkeeping side of things. It was a panic buy that is having to now be rectified.

Put him left back if he’s that good

No great loss imo. He was "ok" nothing more, nothing less

At face value we wouldn't pay MK Dons the fee they wanted for him in Summer '22, so we loan him from Burnley last Summer. Clearly a try before you buy which hasn't worked out. Hugely disappointing given the supposed fanfare that surrounded his arrival.

He is good with his feet but he’s a ****e keeper in everything else. His reactions are so slow and his positioning is so bad it’s almost comical at times.

It’s like talking about a full-back who can whip a good cross in but can’t actually defend. That’s why Coyle is a better option at right-back than Christie despite the former’s limited passing/crossing ability. Coyle can actually defend; Christie can’t.

How we’ve got him for £1.5 million is anyone’s guess. It’s a steal. There must be some catch like Acun forgiving debt owed to him from his previous stake in Fortuna, a high sell-on percentage and/or Allahyar going the other way on loan.

Would that be legal? Certainly seems dodgy from an ffp point of view
