He is a leader. Seems strange saying that, because he has a lot of character flaws, but certainly the younger players really look up to him. We don't have an abundance of that in our squad.

Not sure about his leadership from what I know of him. He's a character certainly. A personality. That Parklife rant will grow into legend
Scoring a winning goal helps, but there seemed to be a bit of genuine affection towards Charlie from Ralph.

Exactly this. He’s one of our most talented players, no doubt, but the ‘if’ you state is critical. If not, and it would make me sad, but get rid.

Not exactly a surprise, but report that Gabbi wants to leave...perhaps for Fiorentina. And Ralph may be willing to let him go as he has to sell to buy and he reportedly wants to sign Selke.
Gabbi is one of those players that I have got fond of and I really wanted him to do well. He has had his moments (notably that goal at Swansea), but has never quite fitted. He's what I call a heart worm....wheedles his way into your heart without you being quite sure why.

Hmmm... just realised that I was there for some of his more important goals, at Wembley and Swansea... I'm obviously only a jinx when I'm not there and Gabbi is playing

Given that he started his career with Palace, and they're a fellow London club, I'd imagine that they'd be ahead of us (and pretty much everyone else) in the race for him.
With "Paddy" Obafemi developing well we can surely afford to move Gabbi &/or Long on in order to raise funds for a new CB?

Way too early to start expecting too much from Obafemi.
Re: Gabbi/Long. Its all about attitude. If they are motivated then they can still do a job. Think it's becoming clear that Gabbi wants awat though.
Think Ralph can see the benefit of Long....he can pull away from most other PL players, then cross. The problem has been no one could seem to finish....now that situation has improved, Long's value goes up.
That would probably be the plan either now or in the summer, we already have 5 CBs though so don't expect any more though unless at least one of them goes as well.
