Agreed, although we all said the same with Ramirez.

I think boufal will go the same way tbh. He certainly has talent but perhaps he just isnt suited to english football or doesnt have the right response when things arent going his way.

I personally feel we need to shift all the bad eggs and performers who just didn't perform for us and give Hassenhüttl a clean slate and build his side.

Do think he might perk up in the right setup. He'll have to modify his game a little -- making more runs off the ball, rather than presenting for the pass in deeper positions -- but Ralph's system suits him down to the ground. Gaston never really acclimatized to the physical demands of the PL...he didn't have 90 minutes of hard work in him. Boufal seems to actually enjoy getting a leg in.

He also chases back quite a bit, to help out, especially if he has lost the ball.
And we desperately need a player or two to draw defenders out of position, by beating others.
Even Vestergaard running the ball out of defence, last night, drew players out of position, freeing up space in front of the WHU centre backs.

Yeah, there's every possibility that he isn't up to it, but I'd be more than willing to give it a shot if Boufal is amenable. Has the attributes.

I'd certainly give Boufal my backing if he was to return, trouble is that there are too many morons in the Saints fanbase that wouldn't. He was misunderstood a bit and clearly felt that he should've been getting more game time under Pellegrino and fell out with Hughes quite early. I'd be interested to know his assist/goal stats per his actual game time here and think that they probably compare well to say a Redmond and I always felt that he was a brave player on the pitch who tried to make positive things happen which is probably why he never suited Pellegrino's cautious and rigid gameplan.

Do we actually have a recall clause in Boufal's loan deal? (Or Reed or Clasie for that matter). I too am open for Boufal to get another chance, but if he doesn't have a recall clause that it's an irrelevant point in terms of next month.

Presumably we'll rotate a little over the next two games. If the likes of JWP, Davis, and Gabbi still don't get much football, I think it's pretty clear we'd be very open to offers next month. If we need to sell before we can buy, then the sooner we sell, the better.

Ramirez has a better footballing brain than Boufal imo. That’s why people kept faith in him for so long, because he always seemed to be mentally one step ahead of everyone else on the pitch. I don’t see that with Boufal. Plenty of skill, destined to be wasted not because of his attitude, but because he hardly ever seems to look up.

Always suspicious when people say that a player isn't performing because he is better than the team...a good player should be able to adjust themselves to their team mates....looking to get the best out of them. And if they get in a 'good' position but nothing happens, the correct response is not to play to the crowd by sighing and sulking...it is to run your little socks off to get involved again. The kind of player that does that will become part of the team and hopefully improve the team.

Do we know what Boufal's crime actually was?

What I heard was that Boufal claimed he was a better player than all our team including Mark Hughes so had a right to start every game.........then got into an argument with Hughes(offered him a fight allegedly),hence being dropped then loaned out.
