Are we really considering top 6. Our last three league games are draw loss win. The last gasp draw to a team on the floor. A brave but second best performance to a top two side. A win to a team in the same neck of the woods who were beginning to dominate until the deflected goal. Where is all this optimism for a top six finish coming from?

We don't have to decide whether to consider it. Just win our games and see what happens. I can't understand this mindset of absolutely ruling ourselves out. It costs us nothing at all to hope.

Neither were Forest.
Here's the top of the championship table on 9th February 2022.

1 Fulham 29 10 4 2 40 13 8 3 2 37 13 51 61
2 AFC Bournemouth 29 8 3 3 29 15 8 4 3 18 10 22 55
3 Blackburn Rovers 31 10 3 3 31 19 5 5 5 14 14 12 53
4 Queens Park Rangers 29 8 5 3 23 13 7 2 4 23 20 13 52
5 Huddersfield Town 31 8 4 3 22 16 5 6 5 18 18 6 49
6 Nottingham Forest 30 6 3 6 19 18 7 4 4 22 13 10 46

We're currently 15th.... 37 points after 29 games... way off Forest pace.

Our fanbase is schizophrenic. A couple of wins and we're going to win the league, a couple of losses and we're doomed to eternity. We all hope we'll win the league, but in reality we'll end up somewhere in the middle.

Like I keep saying a top 10 finish would be outstanding, all things considered, any thing better and I'd be concerned about keeping hold of Rosie next season!

I was talking about them not being ready for the prem. The state of the playing staff contracts etc and how they had to spunk a small fortune in the summer (as would we). Not about their league position this time last year.

Fair enough...
i was making the point we're way off that pace, though some on here seem to think its doable. Who knows it might happen, but doubtful...A middle of table finish looks more likely.

ps..amazing that DQPR fell away again when the going got tough.

We are 12th in the form table in the 12 games since Rosey took over. Not good enough.

We aren’t going up we aren’t going up.

You have to take into account what he’s had available to him during that time. With players coming back and the new acquisitions, we should be a very different prospect but we shall see.

His price is rising every day as more and more clubs come in for him. We will be very lucky to be in a position where he’d even consider coming to us in the summer.
My contacts in Argentina are telling me they’re looking at his heritage and checking if he’s eligible to play for the Argentina national team. He’ll be in their next squad I have no doubt

I think you are failing to take into account that this team, like a tanker was going in completely the wrong direction, like a tanker it takes a while to turn round and get heading in the right direction. We are now IMO heading in the right direction, and Liam's influence is already showing. Do I think we will make the playoffs, probably not, but we will end up in a much better position in the league than it was looking a few weeks ago.

I'm comfortable not expecting plays offs, or even close tbh, but I'm very happy the tanker seems to have been turned round and I'm looking forward to the rest of the season and next season, because we seem to be making some good signings and a few who could well keep improving too.

I couldn't agree more, what I do like is the way Acun & Tan are running the club. In the summer there was a fear he might be over doing it, and getting too involved himself, but he has clearly learnt quickly from his mistakes, and appears to be now reining things in and working with a clear plan.

Absolutely

People can have opinions about certain players, and maybe how light we are in some positions, but he definitely seems to have a plan that he is working to and recognises that getting promoted isn't a quick fix regardless of the money you have

I know a bloke who runs an IT company, one of his strategies was to invest a little in a lot of new ideas on the basis that at least 1 in 10 would come good. Maybe Acun and Tan are following a similar path. With the departures this window the squad shape and size seems much better than it did at the start of then season.

Cautionary note, my IT bloke's company folded after a couple of years!

I guess the bloke you knew was investng in many different types of business, which most he knew nothing about. I think Acun and Tan do know the Football business, so they are working within an industry they know.
