Smith’s first goal reminded me of Fryatt. Rounded the keeper then squeezed it into an open net from a narrow angle. Fryatt wasn’t blessed with pace or strength but was a decent finisher. I don’t think I’ve seen Tyler Smith miss a sitter, unless I’m mistaken. I’ve seen Longman and even Óscar miss a few glaring ones though. Tyler Smith might actually be our most composed finisher when it comes to one-on-one situations.

Compare that with say, Darwin Núñez and Timo Werner who manage to get themselves into great positions but can’t finish a one-on-one if their lives depended on it.

His chairman trotted out the 'definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results' line in the press a couple weeks ago.

That must've stung.

In his defence he got **** all backing in the summer after spending a fortune on ****e the year before

Apparently MacAnthony feels he has one of the best squads in the division, was backed to improve the quality in summer and only 1 player was allowed to leave - which he compares to Barnsley doing better with a 4 month old squad having let all their big players leave - if you read the article.

MacAnthony would say that, he assembled it. He's talking bollocks per usual mind. They've got a young side which has plenty of potential

Nixon was adamant that everyone else was involved when he getting direct quotes from Tan/Rosenior sent to him.
He’ll still take credit for the exclusive if we get him despite making out everyone else is still in with a shout. Which they are but he’s usually like this when questioned on his exclusives

Oscar is the absolute king of bundling/ shanking it into the net and long may it continue.

Which journalists have said coming here is a done deal?
not a journalist, but Rosenior on the radio yesterday..“Malcolm (Ebiowei) has turned down a lot of clubs in the Championship to come here.” Liam Rosenior on @RadioHumberside on the Crystal Palace forward who’s joining Hull City on loan.

If he could hit the ball cleanly he’d be on about 20 by now, but seems to struggle when he has time to think. Even managed to scuff his penalty the other week.

Someone mentioned Fryatt further up, he was the same. Scored loads of goals while barely ever striking the ball cleanly. It always looked like it was trickling into the corner almost accidentally.

Fryatt was a finisher

Yeah he’s not the most technically sound. Imperious in the air though which makes up for it. Can see why premier league sides didn’t take a punt on him as a free agent though, got quite clear gaps in his game that’d make him struggle at present.
